Hi all, a simple chemistry question here.

I've used the search bar and can't find anything on this topic, so forgive me if my efforts didn't pay off.

A friend has x amount of 25i-NBOME HCl in powder/crystalline form. He wishes to blot it, I know how to explain the blotting process for the most part but I don't quite know what chemicals are ideal to put the powder/crystalline 25i into solution. I've read that the substance is water soluble, but are there any solutions that are ideal for blotting? More so, what are the ideal blotting paper(s) that he should use? This person isn't active online much and has asked me to help, the more in depth the information BL provides the better informed he will be. As his chemistry knowledge is lacking I ask for the most precise answers possible.

Many thanks!

Ψ

Edit: For doses around 1mg what would the ideal molarity be? I'm going to rummage through my old books and such and do the math on my own with an estimated purity, though that can only be so accurate :| Other input would be awesome. Especially someone who has knowledge of 25i street purity.

You didn't look very hard. There are so damn many threads about laying NBOMe on blotter that it makes my head spin.

The long and short of it is; yes these compounds are moderately water soluble, around 1-10 mg/ml. But if you're laying blotters you want to use e.g. methyl or isopropyl alcohol, because those will evaporate cleanly. Water will not evaporate very nicely.

Erg. I did two searches regarding 25i and nothing of that sort popped up. Odd. My apologies.

Edit: That link wasn't very helpful, more of a debate on ethics. I know for a fact this person isn't using this for distribution and only possesses a small quantity <15mg. Though it did answer a question I had PM'd to a moderator. Discussion of hypothetical chemistry isn't smiled upon here.

Methanol/Iso I already gathered, now my next guess is basic molarity mathematics to determine dosage. That I can do easily once he gives me the exact amount possessed and such. I'm going to convince him to keep it in liquid though (random addendum).

I'm also trying to figure out the best solvent for making 25i nbome blotters. With salted nbome I see a lot of people using water, but then there's the whole vodka/everclear crowd, and then I've seen posts saying isopropyl alcohol would work best. Which of these is going to give the most consistent results?

Isopropanol will evaporate quicker than water will. Everclear and vodka will contain 10-60% water, depending on proof - higher proofs will evaporate faster than isopropanol. Water is the slowest.

People using water mostly care about nasal administration, squirting some alcohol up your nose isn't a whole lot of fun.
