Not sure why you'd import AMT from Holland?

The parents of a teenager who died in hospital four days after he took a legal high imported from Holland, have described him as 'a normal young man who loved music and football.'

Isaac Hunt was discovered collapsed in his bedroom by his mother Bernadette, and he told her that he had taken Alpha Methyltryptamine, or AMT, which he had ordered from the Netherlands.

The 18-year-old is also believed to have taken etizolam, which is also a psychoactive substance.

'If you are considering taking any type of non personally prescribed drug, I would urge you to consider for a few minutes - before you use the substance - how your family would feel, finding you in need of critical medical attention.'

An MP today called for the Government to spearhead a European bid to prosecute businesses selling deadly 'legal highs' following the deaths of three men in just a year.

Southampton Itchen MP and former Home Office minister John Denham wants a united legal attempt to prosecute anyone selling such drugs across Europe.

Mr Denham said: 'I would suggest to the Government that we need a concerted attempt to use every legal move we can to bring these people down if they can be identified as selling these drugs.

'The very phrase 'legal high' is dangerous because it gives the impression that it must be OK - otherwise it would be banned. However it also also gives the impression that we are complete cunts for banning safe drugs such as mushrooms".

So many deaths i've read about recently have been linked to etizolam, obviously in combination with other things. Maybe it mixes particularly badly?

Tragic :(

PS. A raised finger to the smarmy cunt who sees this as an opportunity to start whinging about aspartame

^ Just saying... they are complaining at 3 deaths a year... compared to millions a year

Now go drink your diet coke

Was a valid point.. If you believe aspartame is fucking evil and does kill/hurt people if they consume it excessively. Just a bit more controversial than pointing at booze or tobacco as more obvious and (in the drug taking community) more often blamed. A few deaths from legal highs vs god knows how many for a load of socially accepted drugs and other poisons.

I happen to think aspartame should be avoided like the plague. Not sure this is the topic I'd bring it up in, but I don't think hangover meant any offense.

The whole aspartame damaging/killing is highly controversial I guess. Don't get me wrong it's a tragedy multiple people have died from aMT. But its blown out of proportion to other legal killers, by the media...and the politicians/government responds unproportionately. And doesn't even listen to its own appointed drug advisers.

EDIT: and ultimately make more RCs illegal :(

Mm, I was wondering this, too. It does seem to have been involved in a lot of deaths lately..

... But I do love your story-telling more than the original ;)

Now it's likely that both will end up illegal, and even more likely (infact they're probably in the process) that they'll be on that temporary ban to let the public think that we're considering not making them illegal but that we will do nothing but the opposite thing :|

Who in their right mind takes that shit? I know dodgy pills can come in all forms, but seriously? The odds of that green dollar piece of shit being anything but dirt are slim to none.

Said it in another thread, but I'm 99.99% sure they omitted to mention that they'd been drinking too.

But the media probably wouldn't even consider a drink like alcohol and something so.similar to a prescription drug to be a problematic combination.

So yep, it must be legal highs!!!!

Sounds plausible knock, likely in fact.

I know alot of us do, irresponsibly so...

But don't mix yer downers kids!

(especially on top of an easily accessible tryptamine renowned for it's emetogenesis)

I see your point. It is worth noting that most of those alcohol and tobacco deaths are from elderly people who've abused the substances for years. Its not very often an 18yr old dies from a cigarette. Also alcohol and cigarettes are used by hundreds of times more people, than AMT.

But yes, this seems more of a freak accident and doesnt justify calling the drug dangerous

I agree with this. Stuff is evil

(forgive my double post, editing isnt too easy on the cellular)

If i can speculate...

Booze and etizolam = unconscious

AMT = vomit

Result = choke

Very similar to a near death experience of my own! Alcoohol+benzo+tryptamine overdose resulting in choking on vomit. Except it was...

1 bottle white wine + 4mg alprazolam (2x2mg Gador bars) = unconscious

snorting a silly dose of 5-MeO-DMT = vomit

Result = Choked on vomit.

The only reason I'm alive now is because my mother (who was minding my son at the time) heard the 'bang' when I collapsed & was able to clear the vomit from my throat.

Seems like a very similar thing has happened here... Excess alcohol + sedatives +tryptamines = choking on vomit. His mother did not reach him in time to clear the vomit from his throat. I'm eternally greatful mine did! :|
