Wake up people. The romanticicing and glamourising of drugs in music and movies (virtually every band has to have a drug addict and songs about drugs) is ADVERTISING.
That is how so many young naive teens get into drugs when it would never had crossed their minds. They associate it with their heroes and idols and those they worship as gods so they think "Hey, if they do drugs and get loaded and worshipped like gods, how could it be a bad idea for me?" But sadly for most it doesn't work that way. And they just end up seeing themselves as rebels when they're doing just what they're programmed to.
Realise that popular culture is the most effective way of advertising. We don't pay any attention to traditional advertising anymore, when we have so much else, but books, movies, music, and the glamourous eople involved in that scene it SELL IT and to most of us when we're too young to think or understand what we're doing. So I would say for the users it's romantic (so they will use) but by society, non-users, and the law it's demonised. What a glorious combination.
The whole thing is so transparent it makes me sick. It leads to so much suffering, and in an orchastretad way by our leaders. And for what ? MONEY. The governments of the countries lets these hugeloads of drugs into Our countries (let's be honest, it couldn't possibly work any other way), profit immensily from it. Then publically condemn it alll and make scapegoates of users and those lowest in the drug-chain.
So corrupt it makes me so mad I could explose. Get romanticised for us through popular culture, publically condemned by politicians (as the majority of the population woulnd't accept anything else), then the drugs are made available by being shipped into the country. Otherwise the drug-problem would be miniscule, the ones responsible get off, and the most vulnerable (addicts and small time sellers ends up paying the price for it all). All the while, there are countles anti-drug-campaings, movies, documentaries, and public examples made out of the worst victims of drug use so they have they're ass covered.
There is really no drug-war. Legalization of drugs would lead to dramatic decease in profit. Keeping them illegal pays of more. The human cost is nothing. It might be hard to see it this way for those who want all drugs to be legal but you've got to see what a diabolical system it is. It - it's so ingenious and tricksy - are we living in Nazi Germany? Brilliant politics that the public have almost no chance of working out.
