don't get all this drug forum paranoia.

unless you were doing something a bit more serious, what does it matter. Surely the police aren't going to be like 'he said he'd taken drugs on an internet forum, track his ip address and arrest him!'.
 
Hope he's alright, that seems an extreme step to take. Hope it wasn't a drugged up moment of paranoia or "screw BL"ness! Most goodbye threads have their OP back within a day or two.... Maybe he'll just come back and start posting from 0.

Tend to agree with this and take the side of the Admins on this one.

If all users are allowed to delete their accounts, pontifex style, then all the archived threads become disrupted and out of place because of all the missing posts. Bluelight is one of the greatest resources for drug information on the Internet, thanks to the years of knowledge and experiences shared by the many members. I don't think it's fair to disturb these collective resources by deleting accounts.

Though I agree with the principle, it does seem they'll change all that if you offer a bribe donation to the admins on this forum. As Pontifex clearly has.

I'll donate £50 to BL, if we can have OTW reamed.
I'll donate £30 to BL, to have shoppercheck etc. banned permanently
I'll donate £70 to PTCH's education fund, just because I think it would be a nice thing to do.
I'll charge £200 to any ladies who'd like to enjoy a night with knock's cock. Proceeds donated to a drug charity of my choice.

that's not what happened at all. i even explained it in support.

being a staff member on bl is exhausting - people always assume we suck, that we're on a power trip and that we're out to do the absolute worst job possible. it's depressing as hell, tbh. i helped somebody the other day and mentioned making a donation. they implied that the only reason i might want somebody to donate to bluelight is so that i can put some of that money in my own pocket. like i say, depressing as hell.

somebody has to worry about what it's going to take to ensure that bl is round tomorrow. it's the easiest thing in the world to log on here every day, taking for granted that the site will actually be here so that you can posts your posts and do whatever it is you do here. easy to insult the people who work to keep this place running when you have no idea what you're talking about...

we're not gong to change anything on a whim. this was one test case. that's all.

I did find it amusing when you said those who donate can have the perks. Sounds like a cover up for bribe, but I knows it ain't like that really ;)

I think he can can code and it'd be pretty trivial to create a script to automate deleting your post history. I'd imagine you could even do it with some fancy macros if that's your bag.

I hope he's ok anywho. I do enjoy his posts and rage <3

True, but i'm STILL going to mention how trivial it would be to just whip up a nice little Perl script or simply a parsed hypermap of the SQL database's inner loops if that's your bag
 
indeed. or outsource the job to an indian teenager for 50 rupees. I'd considered doing a disappearing act like this myself, so am most amused at the consternation it has caused here but pontifex01 has beaten me to it.
 
I would be slightly worried about annoying the fuck out of the moderators if they suddenly had 6000 odd posts in their 'deleted posts' thing or however it looks to a mod/admin.
 
Really though for an admin its just a mysql query and not a huge task I would've thought.
 
In this case it looks nothing like a member deleted their posts. The rupee, perl and macro options (good luck with macros, sensitive dependence on initial conditions) would at least let us reinstate the lost threads.
 
I think I might just write a perl script to replace my activity on BL and send me a monthly digest of other members reaction to my increasingly bizarre behaviour, would save me having to look at other peoples posts.
