Is there a generic version of paramol available in the UK? 7.5mg Dihydrocodeine?

Paramol is so bloody expensive, 7.5mg DHC,
All chemists have generic co codamol at a fraction of the price of nurofen plus,
But DHC is better for pain.
Is there a generic, there must be somewhere surely?
Anyone know?
I know sources not allowed, maybe PM or just a yes no answer/clue would be good?
 
My answer is yes/no because I have no idea what the "normal" price is in the stores. Check your inbox
 
Codiene and dihydrocodiene are not much different strength wise. DHC maybe a fraction stronger but has a lower oral bio than codiene at around 30% i think. So some may find codiene stronger i suppose. Im from uk and ive not seen any generic paramol . you can buy codiene linctus otc in uk think its 15mg or 25mg per 5ml sold in 100ml bottles if the pharmacist will sell it to you. its down to their discretion.
 
Yeah, most pharmacies sell it. 500/10. It is just called dyhydrocodiene and paracetamol in the same way generic cocodamol is codiene and paracetamol.

Really? I've never seen it and believe me I've looked and asked many times, And looked online too. Also I thought it was max 7.5mg in the UK.

Also as for the BA being lower by 30% oral, its apparently 1.5-2x stronger, so you could still get more out of it at a similar dose, plus its re-doseable, different feeling and longer lasting.

Yes the dhc 10mg/500mg paracetamol tabs are a prescription only medication known also as co dydramo in uk when branded l. It is only paramol available otc and im sure there are no generics for this brand. nah DHC is not 1.5-2x stonger than codiene i have been prescribed both long term about 115-125mg of codiene is equal to 100mg of DHC. Also those codiene linctus bottles are cheap from correct pharmacy about £1.50-£2 for a 300mg bottle i think. if you need the paracetamol as well just get cheap generics
 
Just get some Codeine linctus mate 300ml of 15mg/5ml for under a £5 . No hassle

I don't know about Codeine being stronger than DHC cos it doesn't feel it at all . DHC is a far superior Pain Killer than plain codeine imo/IME
 
I remember asking this while I was in my phase of CWEs and the answer was "No...".
The only thing that you'd get close to (in dosage and ability to perform CWEs on) would be prescription strength:
10mg DHC & 500 Paracetamol - Which continues as....
20mg/500mg
30mg/500mg

So yeah, ultimately the answer is no when it comes to OTC medicines. It would be a Prescription only affair.

Boots used to sell their own-brand alternative to Paramol, but I haven't seen it about lately; it disappeared around the same time. I think it was coming out of the same factory (that got sold, and the new owners had to re-apply for all the manufacturing licences, as far as I can work out). Might still be worth buying a pack of Paramol from there (or another big chain) and casually asking if they do an own-brand version. (Boots P+DHC used to be better than Paramol for CWE, too, but I never told you that.)

I have to be careful around Boots for logistical reasons. If I were ever to get scripted meth, Boots is where I'd have to pick up.
 
You are right, the ones I bought have 7.46mg in them, not 10. My bad, sorry. But they sell them in all pharmacies around by me and online.

You are right.

It doesnt exist anymore. And even when it did it wasnt any cheaper! OR VERY marginally, only 24 packs.

Paramol is it guys.
 
Yeah, BJ is correct. The Boots own brand disappeared a couple of years ago, so it's either Paramol or nothing these days.

Its SOOOOO hard to get Codeine linctus now. They know what people do. You can buy at online pharmacies 600mg, yes 600mg bottles for 3 units of english money.

Pholcodine. Thats it now, but still welllll cheap online. AVOID amazon. Those chemists know what people do and ramp up the price

Not too helpful cos DHC is over the counter. Paramol man.
Just no generics,
Just done a cwe on paramol, a 24 (they ran out of 32s) box and a 32 400mgs accounting for loss.
Im feeling good! Like 800mg codeine! My tolerance is 1g of codeine, only prob is 3-4x price. But 3 32 boxes of this and id be flying!

When im more rich possibly try this more hehe

Edit: another prob is most store workers behind counter cant even pronounce the name ffs!
I had to correct her!

That's what I said - You can obviously get Paramol. But no OTC generic brands are available at present, just prescription Co-Dydramol.
As helpful as where a fly is to find shit, I know, but it's truth 8)
