Opioids Does Subutex Just not get you high? Even with no dependance?

Pointless...and a waste, the only time 'bupe' came close to anything resembling euphoria or mood lifting was when a Dr. in Mex. -
gave me 0.25 Buprenex vials w/ rigs about 25 years ago before my chronic pain was a pain in my cranium...

I still use 1-2 mg's (sublingual, dissolved in vodka) - makes a helluva difference, but to get any type of "high" my tolerance would have to be back to ground zero.

Yeah, the first few times I took buprenorphine it was one of the most amazing feelings I had ever felt. Great sociability, confidence, very uppy vibe-energetic, fantastic sex, and it lasted for a better part of an entire day. At that time I was used to around 35-60 mg of hydro daily.

My girl at the time was dependent on around 20 mg of hydro, not much at all really. When she would WD if one can call it that it was bearable. I gave her a piece of my suboxone once, part of an 8 mg tab, and by piece I mean a spec really no larger than three or four periods(. <--- that size times 4) and she was puking non stop for about seven hours, she couldn't stand up straight, she was very itchy... She said it felt great but it was just so over powering to her and lasted way to long.

It's an amazing substance.

If one has no tolerance it will flat out knock your dick in the dirt.

If your tolerant you will feel nothing but normal.

If your high and tolerant it will make you sicker than sick.

If your sick and you take it you will become well.

Amazing one substance so many different expierences.

Yeah bupe is one of those really odd drugs that works completely differently depending on other variables. It's like a total different drug depending on the situation.

@atv do yourself a favor , leave it all alone if u r just a rec. User u won't be 4 long please beleave me I've been doing this 4 half my life(30 yrs.)im 52 now & its been a long road thru hell ........

Been on bupe over ten yrs - saved my life. Cold shaking generics to remove all the Tylenol, taking 20 Norcos at a time - they don't make pharmaceuticals like they used to. Thirty yrs & get hooked on hydro - bah! But re bupe (I am lucky to be on the pure stuff but really not that much anti-antagonist in suboxone to matter if you know what you are doing). Less is more: first & best lesson. Bupe fills half of your opiate receptors. Very hard on veins - a slight miss can be big trouble. Snorting good way and less addictive, but I usually take my full dose sublingually (16 mg) about every 4-5 days or if I start yawning & nose closes up. That being said, I took correctly for long time & only way I could get high was third day and do all you have at once as you only have one chance for a high (codeine - yuck). That's if I want some good boy rush & buzz. These days after the 4-5 day hiatus (not using opiates during that time), I take my 16 mg sublingually & always cop a great buzz. But you do have to know your body. And sorry - but codeine pills? Oh, I forgot: you MUST be in the beginning stages of withdrawal from opiates (or in my case bupe) to feel bupe. That's why I let my body tell me. Yawning & sudden onset of sinus probs = time for bupe. It's really not a drug for novices but for those who know they must do something about their opiate use. Midwest is as it's always been: full of nice clean well-mixed boy. Get a habit from snorting it. I would go that route: cheaper & safer, as long as your karma is right & your veins hold out & you dont have to sell your soul for drugs. Always keep a job. Peace.

@$myke$: I'm older than you and feel for you that it's been so bad. I know I wouldn't still be in the game (tho more behind the scenes or on the sidelines these days) if I hadn't had so much fun and had so many great friends and experiences. The worst for me is the thought of being last one standing. It hurts to lose so so many friends. Glad I always have had friends both older, younger, & much older and younger or the loneliness would be terrible. And there are so many I still miss 30 years later. When life throws good drugs your way, share & run the creeps out of business. At least you know if your friends are with you, they are most likely safe (though can't plan for what I call the "serial killer factor" - chance.) Lady fortune spins her wheel for us all, eventually. Peace.

The worst for me is the thought of being last one standing. It hurts to lose so so many friends. 30, 20 years or one month & they are still missed, some more than others but that's life. They each were important to me even when only I remember them. But as long as I'm alive (& my stories are still told), so are they. Friendship and all it implies is everything.

Bottom line is its a partial agonist. IF your goal is to get high thats probably the opposite direction you want to head...

Years ago, I had a v mild opiate tolerance 120mgs dihydrocodeine a day. I waited till my dose wore off, took 4mg of subutex, and I have to say I was as high as a kite; a very intense body high, very energetic but not euphoric in the way of other opiates. So, I guess it all depends on your tolerance at the time.

Note: the intense body high I described wears off relatively soon after constant, daily use; it's temporary. (After eight years, there's still something, but it's milder and more subtle. IME sub can be hard to come off in the long term.

@beentheredoneit, Wow.. thank you 4 that, makes a lot of sense, I guess I just look @ all the negative its dine in my life. I have made some good friends & lost most of them. 1 thing I can say is that I know us older addicts r miracles, I've known people ,young people that get in the game & 2yrs l8r there gone. Its sad, n e way thanks 4 your comment stay safe

My experience with subutex is you do get high if you have a really low tolerance to opiates. Then it actually feels almost like a full agonist opiate. However, tolerance builds much more rapidly to it than any other opioid so you can get high like 2 days in a row and after that it's just impossible due to the mixed agonist/antagonist effect.

Amen.

As for full/partial agonist, I've always looked at it like this: sub gives you the bodily opiate feeling ie the feeling of warmth and comfort etc, but it doesn't give you the intense euphoria of other powerful opiates ie you're clear-headed, and think "straight".

Btw anybody noticed a difference between suboxone and subutex (or even temgesic)?
