I don't mind a bit of good humoured trolling but it really is getting on my 'ooter.

He is persistently disrupting what is a generally pleasant forum, the new mod team have largely succeeded in integrating and accommodating all but the most destructive posters. The irony of a staff member being such a pain in the rear end makes it all the more annoying, he offers nothing other than to attempt to disrupt the place and cause conflict.

To add to his patent ignorance he manages to talk almost complete and utter tripe often with the intention of making even more trouble.

I've had enough making posts about me having bitched about members in a closed forum for staff and ex staff members is both totally untrue and against well established site protocol, I note he didn't take up the offer of quoting said bitching.

I'm off to bed but if the situation does not improve we will have to see what Admin think of staff causing these kind of issues for nothing other than childish amusement.

Hmm... While i'm willing to concede that the few scientists that disagree with man made climate change havent been given a fair chance to be heard on the mainstream media my own personal view is that all that crap being pumped into the atmosphere has to be having some sort of effect....how could it not ?
But i really do hope the climate change deniers are right...it'd make for a far less depressing future for all of us

It's on the 3 key Cornish but you have to have the keyboard set-up for UK or a few characters don't map right.... @ and " are often swapped round as well. I can assure you all PCs are capable of producing a £ symbol

he's probably right about the energy efficiency on new builds btw. besides, theres all sorts of dodgy goverment schemes to subsidise solar panels, even though they really dont work in this country. what does work is extra loft/cavity wall insulation and good, quality windows. which is what the government shouldve installed in every home in the country at the start of the recession, rather than the bizarre policy of giving billions to the banks in the hope they may do something other than just hoard it

For me there is a limit and he has well and truly gone beyond it and, as I mentioned as a staff member he should be ensuring a decent level of behaviour.

I won't be falling out with anyone, there are channels to raise such concerns, I won't be engaging with him further.

For what it's worth (not much, I know), I completely agree with you. I try to avoid interacting with the more disruptive folks on here, but it's getting quite annoying.

Mortgage or not, the majority of people don't have £10000 to spare. It must've escaped you that a lot of people are struggling to get on the property ladder. A lot of people can't even afford to rent [ hence the average age for young people to leave home is now 24 ]

I was pissing it up around Europe at 24 with no desire to buy a house either. However once you start working ( last time I checked unemployment in Britain was less than 8%, so still the majority) it only takes a little bit of discipline to start paying off a mortgage. £10000 would power a small village, £3000 would get you a 3.5kw unit that would power most modest digs. The point is making all new homes compliant, meaning that developers pick up the bill not first home buyers. Set the standards now and within 20 yrs it would be the norm to have an energy efficient home, even for poor student accommodation.
