Myristicin trippy?? 15/yo

Hey everyone.

I'm 15 years old and looking into mild psychedelics, with hallucinogenic effects, and have become interested in Myristicin.

Have smoked Marijuana for some time but got caught. nothing for 4 months. Convinced parents to let me buy "Parsley Seed Essential Oil" its 36.6% Myristicin. Table of constituents:

Principal constituents by %
alpha-pinene 16.8
beta-pinene 12.2
beta-phellandrene 8.9
myristicin 36.6
elemicin 2.3
apiole 15.9

Anyone tried Myristicin ?? Will It cause some Psychedelic affects??

Hardly any trip reports, other than Nutmeg... but nutmeg is only 4% Myristicin and has many side effects/bad sides(as in nausea)

Looking forward to any info / reports guys, thanks!

Inadvisable. Doubt you would get much out of it and it would probably make you sick. The apiole fraction is probably more toxic than the myristicin. It would be pretty heinous swallowing parsley seed oil too, though I guess you could put it in something like a capsule. I had some parsley seed oil before and it has a very strong smell. If you get even a tiny amount on your fingers it's very hard to get rid of the smell. Would you really want something like that in your belly? Your burps would be horrendous. Take my advice and save the PSO for making soups or something. Even the amphetamine that can be made from Myristicin is not particularly enjoyable, from what I've read.

I don't know, its your body but personally you couldn't pay me enough to eat enough PSO to get any kind of drug effect. Most of it gets metabolized before it can get you high anyway. People have tried to get high from elemicin, which is also contained in the PSO, and they had to put it in enteric capsules so it would bypass the stomach in order to get any significant effects. They did say it was like mescaline with the enteric though. My advice is just to stick with real drugs if you need to get high. That oil is a very crude mixture of compounds. The pinene is basically like turpentine. Can't see that being good for your guts.

Ok thanks you @Jason7, what about using it with an inhibitor to let the drug metabolize? Have found interesting article it's a report on similar PSO to what I have ordered. Not sure about rules on posting the link...? Here is the article quoted:
I've been wanting to try pure myristicin, but it's so bloody expensive. I went for parsley seed oil from Hungary instead. It's like 50% myisticin.

I look about 10 drops in a gel cap.

After about say 1 hour, I could feel a surge of energy. It was a little stronger than people said it was.

I started tripping with tracers and a little psychedelic mind fuck was present at about 2 hours or so.

I felt a little nervious though the trip. It was speedy.

I didn't get side effects like I did with nutmeg powder. But this was nothing like nutmeg.

The trip was nice, a little speedy for my tastes though. The mental effects are cool. Music was great on parsley seed oil.

My question is, is this what myristicin feels like or is something else in the oil making me trip?

Very similar oil to what I have ordered is administered.

And thank you didn't know that about the pinene!! 8o
I guess if it is administered in small amounts at a time wouldn't be too bad? What about vaporizing it, then quicker absorption and skips the whole digestive system goes straight into the bloodline? Plus the pinene(if turpentine-like) should evaporate am i right?

Thanks,
Rob

Have seen people on *link* (sorry cant see how that link breaks a rule? *I don't either apart from the fact that it leads nowhere - 404s for me - and I cannot understand the relevance*) searching for pure apiole oil for a high?? That doesn't make sense though as it can induce acoma's... Anyways looking forward to replies!

Thanks,
Rob

Linking to vendors isn't allowed.

Apiole, myrsticin, are *not* metabolised to amines in the gut and only have anticholinergic effects; any resemblance to mescaline is pretty coincidental.

Generally, essential oils (e.g. elemicin, eugenol and so on) are only mildly psychoactive and not worth your while to consume - elemi oil did fuck all for me, and cloves/nutmeg, though pleasant enough, are tough to ingest and have poor kinetics as drugs (long onset, long duration); marijuana outstrips them all in power and convenience.

These are pseudohallucinogens, only screwing up normal metabolism enough to indirectly produce psychoactive effects.

It might be allowed into the circle of "drugs procured by people who cannot get anything better" such as seen among teenage population or prison, but honestly in my experience this is hardly more than a desperate attempt to investigate any novel psychoactive altered stated.

My suggestion is: focus your energy on broadening your social horizon. I don't suggest meeting up with just any dude who can get anything but rather a scene of people who actually value these states and whose own values reflect protecting people trying to achieve them.

Thank you all again, you were a big help. I've also been interested in psychedelic mushrooms are these any good? Have gathered a group of people whome I never knew were into my kinda stuff, anyway would those shrooms be any good ? To be on safe side I could cultivate my own.

And growing season is about to start should i rather just stick to marijuana? Although interested in
psychedelics =D
Thanks,
Rob

We can't tell you which drug to choose, we also can't tell you if mushrooms we haven't taken or can't see are good either. Assuming they are actual psilocybe mushrooms, then yes, it is obvious that many people find them "good".

It seems like you are scraping around for anything to get high on. This is the beginning of a slippery slope.

Instead, try opening a dialogue with your parents. What are their objections to your experimenting with cannabis? How can you meet their concerns half way?

No sorry but its not at all like scraping around, sorry if made it seem like that. Our one side of family has serious drug users( opiates, coke, LSD, and tried just about anything else.) their reasoning is that they think a Non-Existant mental illness can occur from cannabis (yeah right?) and so do many Other people of their decade.
I'll never be into ANY hard drugs, but am interested in the natural drugs/psychoactive plants. Such as cannabis, psilocybin, salvia? , and so on.

I don't even see the point in this thread anymore or why I started it,
But thank you all for your input!

Well. Cannabis can precipitate mental illness. I know someone who had one fuck of a psychotic episode from smoking skunk. She's still medicated 10 or 15 years later.

It's all about moderation. Just because the establishment are wrong when they say that all drugs are always bad, doesn't mean that all drugs are always good. You have to keep a grounded attitude towards drug use and know yourself.

Over the years you'll slowly work out where your limits are and how to stay on the healthy side of them so take it slow. In a few years your parents won't be in control if what you put in your body and what you don't. Then you'll be 100% responsible for your own safety. Until then, they're just looking out for you so there's no need to try anything to get high behind their backs.

Remember. Natural does not mean safe and synthetic does not mean dangerous. Also just because something is physically safe, doesn't mean it is psychologically benign.

Nah hes right it does sound like scraping around, there's another young guy here doing the same, finding whatever he can that is legal to buy as a teen that may get him fucked up even if its not enjoyable. People say to widen your social circle, which is true, I mean, when youre 15/16 you're in high school, you should be able to find lots of stuff to play with. Anything you can buy over the counter apart from dxm sucks, and it sucks hard, and for some people even dxm sucks hard.

Cannabis, like any psychoactive does have the potential to trigger mental illnesses/issues that someone may have been predisposed to. Its rare but it is possible.

Work on your social circle and loosening your parents grasp. You say you got caught with weed and because of that havent smoked for 4 months now. So you can't handle not getting caught for 3-4hours, but you think you can take potentially much more intense substances that last two to three times longer and not get caught?

Wait for a decent psychedelic to come around. Do not do this, or go chewing on morning glory seeds, or nutmeg, or anything else lame. Chances are it will make you sick and turn you off psychedelics permanently. Give it some time, and the right thing will find you.

So... I know that we all sound patronising and you've probably already rejected what we have said outright. Remember though that all of us were once 15 (in my case it was a really long time ago). Most of us are telling you what we wished we had known ourselves.

Do NOT vaporize that shit. You will seriously damage your lungs.

It is somewhat interesting that you were able to get some Hungarian PSO though, because that's one of the strains with the highest apiol content, along with German. The reason I got PSO before was that I wanted to try to make the amphetamine which comes from apiol, because it looked interesting from what I had read. The kind that I got was mostly myristicin though. Turned out to be impossible to get enough apiol out of it for practical use as a precursor because it was a low apiol strain apparently. You can separate the apiol from high apiol oil by simply putting it in the freezer for a long time until the apiol precipitates out.

I still think the apiol amphetamine would be a good drug but I'm out of the hobby of trying to synthesize drugs. Just WAY too much aggravation and danger. Interestingly, that amphetamine is not banned in most countries, unless they have analogue laws. That compound has never been commercially available either. It would be a novel compound if anyone wanted to bother making it. I wouldn't even bother with the myristicin though.

Incidentally, I had planned to call the apiol drug "Dream", because it seemed perfect from the descriptions. I saw a movie with a fictional drug in it called Dream and I thought the name would also be appropriate for this one. It sounds very similar to Ecstacy but with more of a psychedelic side to it. Sort of a combination of MDMA and a methoxy type amphetamine in one. Should be pretty sweet actually and with the precursor being the common herb parsley, how could the authorities really be able to control it? You could grow a big field of German or Hungarian parsley and nobody would say shit.

one notable problem is the yield of apiole from parsely is so low to make it not worthwhile.

The apiole-amphetamine is, of course, DMMDA. Shulgin made and tasted it.

To the OP: have you ever considered exploring the first and second plateaus of DXM intoxication? If you're looking for a easily obtained drug that will allow you to explore trippy headspaces, DXM is a great option (note that while I say 'trippy headspace', DXM is not a psychedelic, it's a dissociative, but at low doses for first or second plateaus you likely will experience some of the giggly euphoria and alterations of thought processes that are exhibited to a much larger degree with proper 5-HT2a partial-agonists, those being 'traditional' psychedelics).

Make sure if you do that you get a syrup or gelcaps that contain only dextromethorphan, nothing else active *at all*. Then do your drug-safety homework: read all you can about DXM and about the plateaus, and read trip reports about it, and calculate a proper dose using one of the online calculators for the first and second plateau. You should stick to the first and second of the four plateaus for now. Anything stronger will likely not be appropriate for somebody as young as you are (and I say this not as a curmudgeon-y adult but as somebody who did stupid and dangerous things at 15, so I've actually been there and am speaking from experience).

To everybody else: do you think first and second plateaus on DXM may be the ticket for somebody of this age looking to explore the shoreline of the deep, vast sea that is psychedelic experience?

If your parents aren't comfortable with you smoking pot they are going to flip their lids if you start downing cough syrup for a fun time.

Better to wait.

Kinda iffy...

IMO until about 16-17 cannabis should suffice, try an edible if you want to have a more intense experience, but learn extensively about things like preparation and the long onset. It is easy to get OD symptoms that way, IME if you're young you can be more sensitive to it, but that might just be because young implies no tolerance. I would call occasional moderated alcohol use 'understandable'. But none of this is really ideal of course, I think it is a considerable risk that drugs affect you development either physiologically or psychologically and that shouldn't happen too early.
Until about 18-19 if you want to explore more I would check out herbs, even if a lot of them aren't likely to stick as life-long favorites it is still fun to for example experience how damiana enhances cannabis. Passiflora or Kava might be examples of drugs that are relatively mild and they seem benign enough.
Maybe 2C-B if you can get it but it is probably not commonly found in teenage scenes.
I think DXM is pretty shitty for a lot of people due to unfavorable pharmacogenetics and for those who like it, a lot of the same risks as with ketamine apply. I think they shouldn't be underestimated, I have had a ketamine problem for a while.
Maybe if you are in the demographic of people who get 'okay' effects from DXM but still quite some side-effects. That would deter a lot of people from frequent use. Then again at this age, with few other options available, you don't get deterred from abuse so easily...

So be careful.
