2c-b - but no underlying euphoria!

I have great recollections of my times on 2c-b years before - in fact it's under that very drug that I remember feeling so at peace with myself, so beautifully in line with the universe, pushed by an MDMA-like euphoria, but without the sketchyness of MDMA (this effect is of course well known as part of 2c-b and I summarize it here for the purpose of this post).

I have taken a few times very recently some 2c-b (well last time about one hour ago actually), which while enjoyable, have produced absolutely no underlying euphoria, not anything like that I remembered feeling in my years afore.

My question is whether this could be linked in any way to the "loss of magic" that I experienced while taking MDMA after a few years of abuse - that also well-documented loss of pleasure that one perceives after one has taken too much MDMA, for too long.

If not, has this non-euphoria or loss thereof been experienced by others on 2c-b?

Thanks for your answers!<3

If your goal in drug use is euphoria, psychedelics aren't the most reliable things around. Yes, they can be amazingly euphoric, but that's something that comes from you, not the drug. Psychedelics merely facilitate whatever moods and thoughts are experienced, they do not create them. More likely than not the answer lies within your set/setting.

Also, if you want it to produce something MDMA like, you're setting yourself up for disappointment, just appreciate the trip that is given to you by circumstance. I know that's not the answer that you want to hear, but truths tend to be inconvenient.

Based on my previous research, and experience, I believed 2c-b to be a mildly euphoric in itself, notwithstanding such things as mood or settings.

I guess this all means that there isn't a euphoric component to this drug in itself... That, like all psychedelics, 2c-b depends solely on set, settings, etc.. for effect.

I do want to precise that I wasn't expecting anything like an MDMA rush, but maybe a small push in that direction.

It was a pleasant trip nonetheless, but not euphoric. It's too bad I seemed to have lost my 3D glasses, they would have helped seeing the world in sync %)

^Yeah, a great many people find 2c-b to be inherently recreational and euphoric, but it's not universal. The years pass and we change, and our trips change along with us.

Those are always fun, but what you need are some 2D glasses (I don't actually own a pair).

I would suggest some things. The first would be to try radically altering your usual set and setting. Keep one or two good friends with you, properly dose all three of you, and then go do something you don't ordinarily do on this compound. If you're in a big city, I suggest going to the aquarium if its reasonably sized. We have the Shedd here in Chicago, and I know we are blessed in that regard, but even at a smaller location there is not much trippier than watching fucking neon fishes and sharks and god knows what else (pray for mantis shrimp, a peacock mantis shrimp. Hell I should have named myself mantis shrimp instead of after a dinosaur, they're SO cool!). Lacking an aquarium, go to a high-end but least pretentious as possible restaurant, get a multi-course meal of whatever is your favorite shit to eat. Go rent a boat or jetskis if you're competant when you are tripping and tool about on a lake. Whatever.

We often get into patterns of tripping. For example, I enjoy tripping in nature, especially on tryptamines, and I like more social occasions on PEAs. But taking mushrooms and chilling in the woods or throwing a house party with a select group of people on 2C-X is what we *usually* do, it's hella fun, and there's nothing wrong with it at all. I have fun and I don't get bored with it. However, it is nice to change it up now and then. We have such a variety of things to do in this country, and not all of them involve interacting with shitty douchenozzels in public. Notice my suggestions involve novel things to do, but they are self-contained. You are free to wander an aquarium without having to pay any attention to other people, you have nobody to interact with at a nice restaurant but people you are paying to literally wait hand and foot on you, you are not going to be interacting with other people on a small powerboat. I don't have an issue with being in public tripping, but there's a difference between being 'in public' and having to deal with the aforementioned crowds of douchebags in an actively interacting way (say, at an amusement park. Roller coasters are dope, waiting in line with screaming children and their haggard parents not so much).

I don't know what your set and setting was, so I can't comment, nor do I know your usual routine. These are just suggestions of what I would do if I managed to get bored with tripping ordinarily, which I know from past tripping experience are all three incredibly fun. None are for novice trippers (especially not powerboats/jetskis), but you sound like you have a fair bit of experience. Anyway, do what YOU want, don't limit yourself to these suggestions, but pick something you don't often do, especially not tripping, and do something self-contained, that doesn't involve shittons of other people you'll have to interact face to face with.

If this still doesn't do it for you, I can't make further comment on set and setting. If I suggest blowing things up in the country or having anything to do with guns I'll get smacked, and probably rightfully so. Likewise avoid motor vehicles. Other than that I don't have any more suggestions for set and setting easily at hand, last night involved rolling and drinking good, proper beer at the bar, and I'm all out of energy though with a great afterglow. I can then suggest that if your ideas fail you for changing the setting dramatically, try out some new routes of administration.

I almost always sniff my 2C-B, because it's not the hydrochloride salt, it's the hydrobromide, 100% certain. Draw whatever inferences from that you wish. Regardless, you can freebase your stuff and then resalt as something less caustic to go this route. I don't really do the plugging, but that's a great alternative to ensure similarly fast come up and more intense effect. I find it significantly stronger, more euphoric, and more mind-fucking (this is a good thing) when it comes on as fast as possible. I don't really do this with other psychedelics, this is generally a 2C-B-only thing. Hell, IM it if you wish. And again, as with renting a boat or jetskis, if you are not certain of your abilities to handle this – and there's no shame in that – don't do it, I'm just pointing out ways to change your experience as fundamentally as I can. Or take it orally if you must but explore higher doses, try to alter not only the setting but also the pharmacodynamics of the drug's action as well.

Finally, I would say that if all else fails, give it a break with the tripping and come back when you think you may be more receptive to it. It is possible that 'loss of magic' from empath/entactogen abuse could reduce level of enjoyment of tripping on serotonergic things, speaking from a theoretical standpoint. I have not heard of this happening though, so I would wager you just need to spice things up some. One clue to this is whether you have enjoyed any other psychedelics recently. If you have, chances are it was the set/setting, or the drug specifically, not a general inability to enjoy tripping.

Well, thanks for your lengthy reply! Actually, these are all very good thoughts.

I particularly like the aquarium idea. It would seem like so much fun to go and do that!

I think you are (all) absolutely right in putting into question my set and setting. I feel like I need to do something to improve it. The other example, of having parties in a lovely house with a few chosen people sounds a hell of a lot of fun as well. Nature is, you're right, a good way to go also.

How I would love to try the powerboat trip with some friends!

I guess another issue is that I don't know a lot of people that are as stupid as me and do all that stuff. I think I'll have to wait until I find another good opportunity with good friends.

As for the administration route, I feel like I have a lot to learn from set and setting before changing that up. My memory of sniffing 2Cx is so painful that I'd like to avoid it. As for plugging, well - if I can try and avoid putting shit up my arse, I shall do so.

But again, very nice post Deinonychus, thanks for sharing.
