Xanax 7mg

Took Xanax 7 last night. (First time over 1mg) Catastrophic unbelievably expensive blackout. Feeling horrendous today. Thoughts?
 
yup, if ur not used to taking over 1mg, taking even 2-3mg is enough for a medium/mild disorientation of time, thought process, and behavior. its a very potent drug, and tolerance increases very rapidly, so keepin mind if u keep doing 3-5mg or go above 1mg, before u know it 7mg will do nothing for you. b careful
 
Thought....yep, 7 mgs is way, way too much especially if the most you have ever taken is 1 mg. And opiatekrzy is right, doesn't take a long time to build up a tolerance...and it sucks to withdraw from.

Obviously you took waay too much--which tends to happen on benzos. Now you have the benzo hangover. It lasts all day for me; it's bittersweet, depends on what I gotta do.
 
I would hope you learned a lesson through all this, because the social implications of the batshit craziness that ensues during a benzo blackout are very real.

Don't repeat this. If you plan to take alprazolam again, do so at 1-1.25 mg and do not redose. Don't be surprised if you feel like you're sober after a short while, and do not try and up your dose. These drugs can be very subtle, and more often than not, do not elicit feelings of euphoria like other drugs do. The disinhibited amnesia though, that shit is entirely dose-dependant.
 
Hmm it's good advice with any drug to work youre way up slowly. Increasing your normal dose by seven times is crazy. And yes Xanax withdrawal, as Said before, is completely awful!
 
The last time and only time that happened to me, it was because I forgot how many I have taken, and went through a 2 day blackout/rage. Good luck, drink tons of water and eat.

I have never had a blackout from xanax alone, and i have been taken upto 6mg's with no tolerance. However when mixed with alcohol a few times when not tolerant i have been unconscious. Likewise i have never blacked out on alcohol as most people do if they drink enough. I have had upto 15 shots (with little tolerance) in attempt to get super fucked up, while i did get pretty drunk i did not black out but had massive alcohol poisioning, very painful the next day. Some people black out easier than others, but with the amount you took majority of people would black out without any tolerance.

The common sense advice, don't take that much.

I would say so, and dont mix alcohol with bezos..
 
Thoughts? You took an unreasonably large amount of a hypnotic sedative anxiolytic, blacked out like anyone who isn't tolerant to that much of the alprazolam, and it left you with a hangover. This couldn't be much more run of the mill.
 
What's a good antidote for a benzo hangover? Take piracetam to speed up the brain thought process? Noopept? I've tried coffee, doesn't work. Don't feel like hitting the pipe either (yet)

I've never found any antidote for a Benzo hangover.
