I'm sure I started last year's thread, as well. Anyway, a mate's garden is full of mushrooms. They're not liberty caps, because they don't have the nipple. They're more domed. Pictures to follow. I thought it was FAR too early, but the heavy rain has obviously brought them out. Anyone else seen any?

there's mushrooms everywhere atm, because of the humidity I think ... tons all over the garden and in my flower beds.

I recon it might be a good season for mushies in sept/oct if we get tons of rain in late august. fingers crossed.

I recon it'll be more october this year tho, than september.

So, these are unlikely to be anything useful, or is it possible they could be the real deal? I never realised you could buy everything you need from popular auction sites, including the spores. It'd cost about a tenner, for everything. Why don't more people grow their own?

No one can id from a picture. There are deadly look alikes. But if they bruise blue and have dark spores then most likely it is what you are looking for.

treacle you arent gonna find owt psychoactive now. Not until september at the very earliest imo

It's annoying, because even during season, I never find anything I'm certain about. I think growing my own is the way forward. It's damn cheap.

You're welcome to sample the growths between my toes, lord knows I've smoked enough pot for them to possibly have their own sort of party powers.

No idea why the bottom image is so small. Just click it.

Although it is notoriously difficult to identify anything from a photo, these do look suspiciously like 'haymakers' (Panaeolina Foenisescii) which ARE psychoactive (but less potent than Psilocybe Semilanceata). However, I would NOT advise you to eat any until you know EXACTLY which species they are. There are various species of psychoactive fungi growing in the UK throughout the year - just because it is not autumn yet means bugger all.. However, most of them are of very low potency and not quite as obvious as 'Liberty Caps', which is why they have never become popular.

I know nothing about muchrooms so I 'm going to keep an eye on this. I suppose identifying them is easy when you know how just like everything else. I love nature. Not that I'm an expert but I reckon too that it will be a good year. We've had proper seasons this year ideal for everything. Did anyone her used to make mould as a youngster? I used to mix stuff from the kitchen and leave it to go mouldy as a youngster. Muchrooms are really fascinating things. Have you ever seen a dog eat a muchroom?

No, but I've seen a man eating chicken.

edit: wiki says

Panaeolina Foenisescii : It is sometimes mistaken for the psychedelic Panaeolus cinctulus or Panaeolus olivaceus both of which share the same habitat and can be differentiated by their jet black spores. This is probably why Panaeolina foenisecii is often listed as a psychoactive species.

"It is reported as poisonous because it contains very small amounts of the hallucinogenic psilocybin chemical. Those looking for an easy "high" will probably be disappointed for the amount of the hallucinogenic chemical in the mushroom is barely detectable or non-existent in some cases. However, there still may be concern for very young children and toddlers."

This is why many of the numerous reportedly 'psychoactive' species have never gained popularity - their psychoactive goodliness is just far too unpredictable.

I can't pick anymore....

The local council built fucking houses on the best spots. Even called one of the new streets Liberty Green just to rub our noses in it.
The shits
