Not sure if this is bullshit or not, but next time you book a flight delete your cookies before looking again. Apparently the price goes up with multiple visits. Can't remember where I read that though so I could well be talking shite :)

I can confirm this, friend of mine works at a large travel organisation and told me airliners pull this trick to convince people to buy tickets quickly. Also, skip Warmoesstraat when looking for cheaper beers/ marijuana. Tourist trap is what that is.. If only people (british :)) would ever venture beyond the red light district and the surrounding streets
 
After consuming hallucinogenic truffles a tourist jumped from the roof of his whereabouts in the night from Thursday to Friday. He did not survived the fall. A police spokesman could not confirm whether it is the roof of a hotel or a home.
Together with a friend the tourist had taken truffles. As a result, they were both in a hallucinogenic state where one of the two jumped of the roof. Where the other tourists at that time was the police can not say. However, it is certainly the two friends came from abroad.

Police have taken the other man to the office right away on arrival at the Marnixstraat, where the drama took place, "With this, we wanted to ensure that he committed the same stupid action," said police spokesman. He is now free again.

This was a time ago; i'm sure they gonna ban truffles now.
 
I just cleared my internet cache and searched for the same flights coming in at £94 again........i think there may well be something in this rumour.


However that what is showing up in skyscanner, but when i click the link to book it takes me to some site called http://www.9flights.co.uk/ which then lists them at £108.

I think this site has found a way of tricking sky scanner to show their false cheapest price first or something dodgy like that...maybe.
 
we stayed in this seasons star hotel very near centraal station which was ideal location wise. Twin room had a great shower but no room at all, huge windows which looked out directly onto.... other peoples windows. Beds were cosy and theres nothing better than poor acting tv when stoned (yay for hollywood heights!).
We spent most of our time walking around amstelveen and the outskirts of amsterdam. We bought a ton of crap from a supermarket for £4 which would have costed nearly 20 in central/rdl.
Amsterdamse Bos was perfect for tripping (except for all the bites i've come back with.... a total of 32 on my body!). Consumed 22g of truffles, set up camp somewhere hidden and saw 1 person all day. Had a lovely visual trip which 'ended' abruptly after 2 hours, after this it wasnt very visual or colourful but mostly emotional, the change was sudden. Never experienced anything like it. The whole area is nice and i've left my friend camping somewhere hidden in there (blue tent) since he has a ferry on saturday and 20 quid to see him through. If anyone does happen to come across him, spare him some change or food or at least more insect repellent.
The vondelpark and oostenpark (?) were so chill in the evenings, definitely recommend them as places to go.
Actually sick of weed now though. the smell itself makes my stomach churn.

Lots of koka being sold by black guys in the rdl, didnt take up their offer though. Did buy EZ-Test kits though, and for the same amount it would cost me online.

Going to a festival in the Netherlands this weekend.. Just wondering if anyone has any experience of what the security is like at their festivals? Is it similar to the UK?

If it's Dance Valley you can expect close scrutiny at the entrance from security and there will be a police presence, possibly even with sniffer dogs. You will most likely be patted-down and if a small quantity of [soft] drugs are found, it'll be confiscated but you should be allowed in.

If the amount is large enough, depending on the sort of drug, you will be arrested. So be smart and careful, and have fun!

Thanks for the reply mate. Didn't realise you'd get sniffer dogs over there as thought things were a bit more relaxed over there.

It's not dance valley and it will only be a small amount so hopefully I'll be ok..

Hey all, visited Amsterdam once back in 06--back then a bunch of my friends tried to score coke from dealers in the rld...they all got some type of stimulant but never actual coke, however these weren't very street smart ppl, just stoned idiot tourists

Well I'm going back there soon, alone this time, and will be looking for coke and dope. I've never coped in Europe before tho and don't wanna get ripped off too easily, so;
- It seems there's no legit coke/ dope being sold to tourists on street in rld, is that accurate?
- how does coke come packaged usually? How is heroin usually packaged? ( little plastic bags, wax paper, tin foil, plastic wrap, etc?)
- are deals done on the streets or inside homes? Maybe in cars?
- is central station a good place to ask around or are there lots of scammers/con men/ police there too like in rld?
- what about asking prostitues not in rld to help score?

Last, how does Rotterdam compare to amst? In terms of quality of weed avail at coffee shops and in terms of scoring coke and dope on the streets?
 
Buying drugs off someone you've never met before and you'll probably never see again is never reliable, doesn't really matter where you are. You might get lucky, and there are ways to reduce your chances of getting ripped off. As with any trade, if you are familiar with the thing you're buying then you can make some judgement of the wares if you get a chance to handle them before parting with your money.

Wherever you find actual illegal drugs being sold, there will be people trying to exchange worthless balls of cling film for hard-earned cash.

If I was a chancer on the streets of Amsterdam I think I'd have you in my scopes.

"Know your source" is a good rule to follow. Think about what that implies. Other than that, BL is not here to help you score :)
