Hello! So, I am a sufferer of chronic pain. The last time I saw my main doctor she prescribed me too low of an amount of my pain medicine, giving 7.5 hydros and only enough for two a day (my tolerance is low but not naive, two and a half of those is typically a good dose for me and I often have to redose later in the day). This led to me running out and having to go to an Urgent Care to get something to hold me over until I see my pain doctor again. When I see my pain doctor I am going to approach her about giving me the 30mg oxys which will allow me to take one half in the morning and one at night, effectively controlling my pain with a nice buzz on top. The lady at the urgent care only gave me enough to hold me over until then, which was 30 5mg oxys.
She also gave me something I've never taken before though, which is 30 350mg Soma tablets.
Now, she explained to me that apparently taking the Soma in conjunction with the oxy would allow me to take less oxy to effectively control my pain. I figured you guys were the best to ask about whether or not this is true. If so, how well would it work? If my normal dose of oxy is 15mg, would I be able to take the soma and then take 7.5 or 10mg of oxy and have it work just as well?
Also, she said it was sedating. Just how sedating is Soma? Are we talking benzo sedating, as in "I'm tipsy and drowsy but I'm still good to go" or are we talking Seroquel sedating, as in "I can't do anything at all"?
Lastly, is Soma safe to take with just about anything? All I take are the opiates (either hydro or oxy) and valium for anxiety/ocd. I'm not taking ridiculous amounts of any of them so I just would like to make sure if this is all safe to take together to prevent any harm. I never typically take my painkillers and my valium at the same time, but I know it's safe doing so. I just need to know that everything would be alright if the soma were thrown in there as well.
If you guys could help me out here, that'd be great, thanks!
