Among its reports, Trayvon Martin’s drug use, explaining how the Skittles and Arizona Watermelon Fruit Juice Cocktail drink he carried that night are ingredients that, when mixed with dextromethorphan (DXM) cough syrup, create “Lean”, a concocted high which can cause psychosis and aggression over the longer term. According to the autopsy report, Martin’s liver showed damage consistent with DXM abuse.

Does DXM cause liver damage? I've always been suspicious about this because when I take 300 mg or more, the area above my liver is sore for a couple of days. But I got blood tested once after use and all of my levels were healthy.

edit: the autopsy's microscopic examination of the liver finds "no diagnostic abnormality"

Somebody must be confused. DXM is not one of Lean's ingredients.

I'm sure there are various permutations of the recipe, but AFAIK, Lean's only "official" psychoactive ingredients are codeine and promethazine.
 
codeine is a higher dose of dxm- Facepalm. And lean is sprite +codeine n' prometh syrup. Alcohol can be added as well as other pills. Damn the media is stupid, oh yeah DXM is lean. WHile i despise both of them, as dxm is the dirty nancy of dissasocitaives and codeine is utterly useless, i hate this kind of misinformation. Anyways RIP trayvon.

Even if he was walking home with materials that could have been used to make a drug (and some that were already drugs), it really doesn't say anything about what happened between him and GZ, does it?
I mean, if I were arrested with fully-cooked meth on me, should the cops be allowed to say that my possessing that drug is evidence that I must have forcefully resisted arrest? Certainly not.
 
Ah, DXM wasn't actually found on him..at all! The OP is very misleading and makes it look like he had a bottle of DXM on him....Also, the link is to some shoddy site set up by someone's grandmother or something....So let's not start creaming our underwear quite yet!

The whole thing is speculation over what COULD be mixed with skittles and Arizona ice tea! Find me one other semi valid report concerning this anywhere!
 
^ no kidding, he didn't even have the Robotussin on him, just 2 completely benign convenience store products that "could" be used to make "Lean" if he had codeine/prometh syrup. If he had a bottle of grapefruit juice would we be assuming he was buying it to potentiate heroin/oxycodone? I mean seriously?

Also the lady who wrote that article should probably stick to writing about the Antiques Road Show and not spread misinformation she got from who knows where.

There is no quality reporting necessary in this world anymore, just throw out allegations and false information and no one will argue it. F'n pathetic.

And what "liver damage" does DXM cause? I would say reading that link has given me a headache consistent with being exposed to ignorant and presumptive information.
 
Just have to say Thank God for the Conservative Tree House!

Clearly an organization not afraid to present false information and claims to further their agenda.

And honestly I believe I lean more to the conservative side in politics. But IMO the people at one end of the spectrum, regardless of left or right sidedness, are the greatest burden's to out society. Yet that is the majority of people we elect to out most powerful offices. This country has turned into a case of the blind leading the visually acute.
 
I'm just gonna consider this abdominal pain acid reflux then. It doesn't seem there's any evidence out there that DXM harms the liver.
 
It's amazing to me that people are outraged that anyone would question why Zimmerman shot this kid dead! If you shoot someone, it's generally taken very seriously and investigated extensively...People are looking for any little thing that Trayvon Martin did wrong in his life before this incidednt happened and trying to somehow use this as proof that we should assume that he deserved to be killed...It's so twisted....

If Zimmerman was not driving around, nobody dies...nobody gets robbed...absolutely nothing happens! There wasn't enough evidence to convict him of murder, but his big stupid nosy mug is responsible for this situation.....Is BL all of the sudden a right wing, Christian conservative, gun advocacy forum?

Most of the people on here are free-spirited drug-users that march to the beat of their own drum and don't live their lives according to the "letter of the law" at all! It's so hypocritical that these same people are taking the fact that Trayvon Martin might have been a little bit of a juvenile delinquent who smoked weed, drank cough syrup and stole a couple things as evidence that he must have brought his death upon himself! Trayvon Martin was just a run of the mill teenager who engaged in the same run of the mill teenager stuff that millions of kids in the US do!

The same people ranting and raving about their right to live free and use whatever drug they want and not be judged for it are on these threads supporting the idea that someone who has Arizona Ice tea and skittles is most likely a violent person because Arizona ice tea and skittles can be mixed with DXM and a side-effect of DXM abuse is violent behavior?! What leap that is!
