I think Real were just waiting for Cavani, there was some silly rumor about his clause being void after august 10, which makes no sense . why would it change in the MIDDLE of a window?
Real wanted Cavani, but didnt expect PSG to get him so early in the window.
Their options now seem to be Suarez or Ibrahimovic
Lewa looks to be staying a year and then Bayern, I dont think Real are interested in Rooney ,and Mario Gomez is not really wanted by anyone, at least not on his current 130K a week wages

IF Real go for Bale and a striker it would take their spending in the last 10 years to 1.1 billion euros,or about the same amount Roman spent on the team, new training ground and academy the wiping of the debt and signings in 9 seasons

In that time Real have won 3 league titles and one spanish cup
Chelsea have won 3 leagues, a champions league, a europa cup , 4 fa cups and 2 league cups in the same span

Gomez joined Fiorentina a few days ago 18 million.. Also whoever said about De Rossi I really don't think he will leave Roma, Serie A is my league

Sorry 20 million... Gomez has the best scoring rate of any striker in Europe (only behind Messi & Ronaldo who aren't really centre forwards plus they play in La Liga against sub-standard defences which invalidates their records IMO).. - It will be interesting to see what his goal scoring record is in Italy (especially if Fiorentina can hold onto Jovetic they have a very attacking creative style of play) as the defending in Italy especially among the smaller clubs is better than any of the main European leagues

If anyone thought UEFA were not a corrupt bunch of cunts check the Supercup venues
This year its in Prague, ok thats fine
Next year its in Cardiff ok thats sounds reasonable as well

in 2015 the Supercup will be played at

Mikheil Meskhi Stadium , Tblisi . Georgia !!!
Holds 27,000 and better known as the Stadium for the Georgia Rugby team.

That must have been a massive bung to Michel Pratini to swing that one

Sorry my mistake, totally escaped my mind .
He said Guardiola sold him on the move, but then said that living in Florence was a key factor.
Seems a strange move, Fiorentina are not in champions league, Not sure what wages he is getting but it cant be 130k.
Klose was on similar wages at Bayern and decided to semi retire by playing for LAZIO as opposed to going to Spain or England as well.

I dont really get why a player would go to Lazio or Fiorentina apart from the weather considerations if they had a similar offer from England, the standard of most Serie A thesedays is shocking apart from Juve

Gomez will still score goals, but I dont really buy into the scoring rate thing, Bayern serve up goals for anyone who plays upfront, even Pizzaro !! lol and we all saw how great he was at Chelsea

but then its only the supercup.

Thing is no chance that anyone who actually wins the Europa league or Champions league will be located anyplace near Tblisi !
I could understand if they kep Monaco as a venue as its a nice corporate jaunt for UEFA and their cronies, but Tblisi in August? Its like fucking 40 degrees there that time of year

some serious backhanders involved in a decision to take the Supercup to Georgia when a champions League Final has only been staged once in its history in eastern europe

The London Programme - English football firms. 1983/4.
Broadcast around 1983/4 ... this features several London football firms + England away footage.

SHM its worth a watch, has a lot of the Spurs/Feyenoord rivalry as well

fucking hell at the prices spurs away in 84 was £2.20 !!!!
Cant get a Kebab for that price in turnpike lane thesedays

In that show they mention in 84 Chelsea had the 3rd biggest away support in England after Man Utd and Liverpool
Not bad for a plastic club with no history eh :)

So Jovetic has joined City, he is an absolute monster - seriously, seriously good player - gonna light up the Premiership it wouldn't surprise me if he is in the running for player of the year next May

Good player and probably their best signing of the summer.
The rest seem to fit a mould of winning it all now . Doesn't seem to fit the Chelsea model of buying younger players
Fernandinho is good, but not £30 million good also 28 yrs old
Navas. Never rated him 28 yrs old this season as well
Negredo , excellent scoring record but again no real resale value and another thats 28 years old next month

Contrast to Chelsea signing Schurrle at 22 years old
Van Ginkel at 20 years old
De bryune at 22

Spending as a whole is crazy now
Hulk to Monaco at £52million?
Thats about 100 million in transfer fees for his 3rd party grubby owners to siphon off in fees in less than 18 months.
PSG have just spent 55 million on Cvani, even more shocking they just spent the same amount on 2 teenage defenders

15 million euros on Digne
35 million !! on a 19 year old Brazilian defender Marquinos whose sum experience of football is 36 games and a season in Brazil and one in Serie A
madness

If you look at the small print in stuff like the Neymar transfer , you will see its all going to the pockets of the agents and others with these south american kids

this is truly shocking and shows up the sport to be the mess it is
Barcelona’s reported €57 million ($74.7 million) transfer fee has found its way mostly into the pockets of the agents, including Neymar’s father Neymar da Silva Sr.

According to Spanish paper AS, which published images of the contract, of the €57 million Barcelona paid for Neymar, €39.9 million ($52.3 million) went directly to the agents, including Neymar’s father, leaving just €17 million ($22.3 million) to Santos. Then, Santos had to pay €7.65 million ($10 million) to an investment group who partially owned Neymar’s rights.

That leaves just €9.35 million ($12.3 million) to the club, a measly 16.4%.

Yeah but they are getting the season tickets renewed by linking themselves to Suarez, Higuain etc :)

I think Suarez is a real possiblity. RM are now upping their price to 40m euros for Higuain so they can fuck off tbh. Overvaluing their own players to offset their crazy signings, ain't on.

We'll see how things go in a couple weeks, we cant afford to wait until after season has started so hopefully something happens soon.

They only did that because Napoli's president went and told everyone they have 108 million euros to spend this summer. that guy is a real gobshite. Rafa has already wasted a lot of his money

Some tabloid said Higuain himself had said he was wanted by Mourinho, laughable seeing as last year Jose called him the laziest player he had ever coached.
The summer is full of these kinds of saga's, Man United "leaking" that Chelsea had offered Mata or Luiz & 10 million . A complete fabrication as this would value 2 players we bought for 25 million each at around 13 million each !!! and their attempt to destabalise 2 players who were on holiday and thus would not be able to check with the club was amatuerish at best
Chelsea counter by stating Rooney is their ONLY target and thus making Rooney's position at United basically untenable.
Rooney "confused and angry" ?? says who, gimme a break lol

ish they would just get on with it and get it done like the 2 french clubs

In other news Common sense prevails over greedy UEFA AND FIFA.

Fifa and Uefa have lost an appeal against a European ruling that the World Cup and Euro Championships should be shown on free-to-air TV in the UK.

In 2011, the European General Court said the UK could keep the events on a list of "protected" events of national sporting interest broadcast for free.

It means the two tournaments cannot be sold exclusively to pay-TV firms.

Fifa and Uefa had appealed, after saying they could not sell the events fairly for their real value.

But the European Court of Justice - Europe's Supreme Court - has now said the original decision in the General Court (formerly Court of First Instance) in 2011 was correct.

TLM - Have you heard anything about De Rossi signing for Chelsea?.. It was being reported the other day as if it were official now I am hearing he will stay with Roma.. If Chelsea did sign him it would indeed go against their recent trend of buying young players

Hulk for 52million is absolutely nuts, he is way over-rated from what I have seen of him... Cavani I think is money well spent if you compare it to Hulks transfer fee, it's just a pity to me that Cavani willl be playing in France next season, I would have preferred if an English club bought him I love watching him play, he's much better than Falcao in my opinion

I agree the price on Marquinhos is madness but he is a very good player at both ends of the pitch..PSG will be a force in the Champions League next season

Apparently Napoli have 125 million to spend, I hope for their sake that De Laurentis is conducting the transfers business himself as handing Benitez that kind of cash to throw around would be insanity!!!

I've been an Inter Milan fan since I was 10 years old, so I'm not going into the season with too much expectation but have you seen our young 18 year old Croation midfielder Mateo Kovacic? The kid is absolutely awesome already

The terms of the Neymar deal are crazy if that is true...agents are the real kingmakers in football today it seems

Kovacevic is an excellent prospect. In a way its a good thing that the team has a little less pressure on them this season with no european football as it gives him time to bed in slowly.
As for De Rossi. I find it a bit strange that 2 days ago Roma announced they would be playing Chelsea in USA in a couple of weeks time, bit of short notice really. I think with a DMF age isnt too much of a problem as they dont go box to box as much
we signed Makalele when he was 29 for £16.8 million and was worth every penny. DDR would just sit there break up play against the likes of Yaya Toure
The game could possibly be part of a De Rossi deal. They were supposed to want Wallace our Brazilian right back on loan for a year. but just went and signed Maicon so doubt the lad would get many games so who knows
Would love De Rossi, along with a fully fit Essien as well as Ramires it would be a vast improvement on the Mikel/Lampard combo that at times got overun in some games last year. especially when you play the likes of Yaya Toure who seemed to dominate our midfield all 4 times we played Citeh last year

I didn't realise you were a Chelsea fan TLM... don't get me wrong DDR is awesome I actually think he would be a great signing for you. He is more than just a DM though he gets forward quite a bit aswell, he has to be one of the best all round midfielders in the world.. What I meant was it would be a typical Mourinho signing - players at their peak who will help the team win things NOW as apposed to 2-3 years down the road.

p.s. you Chelsea fans are the luckiest SOBS going to have the God himself sitting in the dugout, well jealous I am I just hope at some stage in his career that returning to Inter would make sense for both parties...he still has 15-20 years left in his career so it is not impossible!

I see your point about having less pressure on the team this season, it is just like a dagger in the heart not seeing Inter in the CL and looking at how far the team has fallen since we were invincible in 2010

So Tito Vilanova's cancer is back and he has resigned today. Sad news. I wonder who'll take over, rumour already has it that Villas-Boas might be the new guy

Have never quite understood why the Millenium Stadium hasn't had the Champions League final. Big capacity and great atmosphere. Really should do.

^ Talkling about bungs and corrupt this needs to be boycotted by European clubs. Fucking joke how they managed to get the World Cup in the first place. So impractical in every single way and option. Money talks right enough and it's time these pricks, epecially Blatter, get the overhaul.

opiaterock;11701910 Hulk for 52million is absolutely nuts said:
I would rather have Falcao personally . He has a knack of scoring in the Big Games , Cup Final winners etc . No way is Cavani Much better .

Such a pity that neither player will be in La Liga or The Prem for a couple of years . I can't see either of them finishing there careers in Lique 1.

Blatter needs to get fucked off, like now.

"There is still time to change the whole of europes footballing season, messing up about 3 other seasons to accomodate it, so we can host the world cup in qatar. How about theres still fucking time to choose a country that is capable of hosting the world cup.

In the bidding process they promised all these air conditioned stadiums etc etc, all these promises, did the comittee never think about the 50 degree heat the fans are going to have to endure? or the extreme views against homosexuals and women? How about drinking alcohol being confined to small hotel bars and frowned aupon.

Never brought up any of that, or even though about it no? Too busy looking at the fat room of cash they were all swimming in. The 2022 world cup will be the worst to date, if you cant host the world cup in the summer, then they should have never been given it. Fucking annoying.

FFP? Mr Platini needs to look a little closer to home I think, Monaco and PSG making a mockery of it, fuckers
