That fee is crazy.
Heard it was 30 million euro for the release clause and 8 million in tax
Release clauses are a strange one, they are supposed to prohibit good players leaving for bigger clubs, yet all they do is put more money in agents hands.
Must admit I had hardly heard of this bloke.
SHM the mark deal is a good one, he will play a dozen or so games. better than him sitting on the bench behind the new dutch goalie Fulham signed from Roma whose name escapes me ATM.

Zoff was 40 and won a WC so goalies do play on a bit longer. Made no sense to sign Ruddy for what would probably have been a year and it saves 7 million on the fee as he was free
Chelsea's goalie situation is now really healthy.
Courtois may take over in a year. I already think he is the worlds best goalie, some of those saves in the copa del rey final were world class
Cech is still reliable and when he gets his work permit next year Matej Delac the croatian will join as well.
He is also a prospect having become the youngest ever call up for Croatia at age 16.
I know YT can make anyone look decent but he really does look good on this clip of when he was jusy 17

Brimz WHU have applied for a work permit for that colombian bloke.

I like tim Vickery, but sometimes his Spurs bias shines through. He said Sandro would be an instant hit but then went and said Oscar would have trouble adjusting to England.

Sandro is a fine player. But Oscar had a really good first year considering he had no rest from the olympics & along with Hazard played exceptionally well for someone in their first season in England

Norwich seem to be flashing the cash, first they got Van Wolfswinkel who is really good and now £6.9million to Ajax for highly-rated defender Toby Alderweireld.
Says a lot for the state of Liverpool that the kid would turn them down to sign for Norwich instead

Then again he did state 'I do not want to play in an English club to mid-table.'

Guess that rules out Norwich

And Liverpool :)

Tbh I think Alderweireld is staying put. He was aiming for higher things than Norwich, came fairly close to a Leverkusen move, but why go to Norwich when he can play Champions League with Ajax.. He's still young so his chance to move to a bigger club will undoubtedly come.

Oh the goalie Fulham signed is named Stekelenburg, top goalkeeper imo and not just because he played for Ajax. Just a few years ago there appeared to be no-one to follow up Van der Sar in the Dutch team but now we have him, Krul, Vorm, Vermeer, all good goalies.

I really like Krul, I think he is an excellent goalie and would not surprise me if he is first choice by the time the 2014 world cup comes

Really want him gonna have a gander at the WHUFC site get the ITK init

We gonna have to bung some cunt i tell ya agent probably .

Don't want another Jorabchin sp . Tevez Sketch man :sus:

OsvALDO MATE '

Saw him play forESPAnYOL @ there new ground scored 2 crackers then nearly got sent off .

Called the Roma president a Cunt cos he didn't start in the Final V Lazio.

Quality striker though .

TLM - Osvaldo thoughts

Well at the very worst he wont be as bad as that kid you signed from Brescia for like 10 million, I like Zola but that wasnt one of his best decisions.
From what people say he can play off Carroll as a 2nd striker

Big step up from Colombia under 20's , but the Argentinian league is generally a really good standard, better than Brazil so he should do ok once he settles in. Would much rather these types of players come straight to England instead of Portugal and then come over on inflated fee's that line the pockets of George Mendes and Kia
I reckon you will have to bung someone to get him.
Amazed that nobody in England has gone for Esteban Granero yet, he was QPr's brightest spot last year, cant see him wanting to stay in the 2nd tier

Looks like Citeh will sign Jovecetic( sp) so seems the transfer window is in full wing

Might have mentioned it before but Chelsea are also about to beat off a host of clubs to get Brown from WBA, 2nd youngest player to ever play in the premiership at age 16
They want something like 5 million for him, we offered £300,000
Overpriced English player? who would have thought?

As a general rule after fernando I dont have much faith in Spanish strikers lol
the one guy I really like is soldado who whilst a bit older can score anywhere.

Speaking of Spanish Strikers, did you see the fee for David Villa?
At Madrid paid get this 2.1 million euros for him !

Of Course his Barca wages are like 200k euros a week, but thats still great value !
When Spurs wanted him Barca said it was like 12 million euros and then go and sell him to a rival for a tenth of that !
Just shows how English clubs get fleeced.
GLad Spurs missed out on him, not only to set a precedent that english clubs wont be fleeced but i reckon he would have been great for Spurs

Ok its official Chelsea have signed Isaiah Brown from WBA

Looks to be quite the prospect

WBA are a bit pissed as it seems he travelled to Chelsea on his own 2 days ago and signed without WBA Knowing.
They have a bloody cheek, we did them a great favor last year by loaning them Lukaku who is the type of player they would never have been able to sign outright
article on Brown http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2360212/Isaiah-Brown-Chelsea-U21-pre-season-tour.html

Richard Garlick, Albion's sporting and technical director, said: 'We are disappointed by Chelsea’s offer.
'We have invested a lot of time and money in Isaiah’s development as a player and - as one of our most exciting academy products in recent years - we had hoped to bring him through into our first team.

'But Chelsea have forced our hands and we are more than prepared for the matter to be decided by a tribunal if needs be.'

Garlick later questioned such a move and said: 'It makes you question why these young players are joining bigger clubs when they are likely to gain more first-team opportunities in the Barclays Premier League at clubs similar to us.'

what bullshit, has he never heard of the concept of loaning a player out ?

Nuts though insn't he Lol!

When i saw him @ that game back in 2010 against Zaragoza i thought yeah this guy is fun :)

Espanyol have a superb stadium 4 star Euro standard in the suberbs of Barcelona never sold out except the obvious well worth a visit .

We don't talk about Savio . It was a load of bollox cos we hadn't made a signing we paid next to nothing apart from getting skanked a few "100,00s by agents

I reckon at least alf that savio fee went in agents pockets
shocking transfer

Savio the former Real Madrid and Flamengo player would have been better ! even in his 40's that bloke from Brescia was shocking

The one guy I would like to see in England is Adrian Lopez

And also Funes Mori the River Plater striker
Boca Juniors defender Lisandro Magallán
And Leandro Parades of Boca( trust me this guy will be one of the worlds best players in 2 years)
Problem is the work permits

They need to sign up with Kia so they can be shipped to england

Struttergear you may be interested in the aforementioned Leandro Paredes as Arsenal have been linked to him

http://hereisthecity.com/2012/10/19/10-things-to-know-about-arsenal-target-leandro-paredes/

Boca will dig their heels in and cant imagine him going for anything less that £20 million, especially as he is only 19 years old
If Erik Lamela is 18 million Euros then Leandro is at least that and then some as he looks a better player at the same stage of his career

just heard that Arsenal might be targeting Abate, from AC Milan. As a Milan supporter I'm willing to chip in for the plane ticket :P

New Lazio Leisure wear ?

Familiar .

Zapata looking like a deal .

Jack Sullivan
‏@jsullivanwhu
ZAPATA’s work permit application is 2 weeks today. Hes an exceptional talent, hopefully the panel agree with us.

Let's hope little Jack isn't getting carried away as he has done in the past

TLM .

What do you think of Columbia ?

Got some talent , Rodriguez, Falcao , Martinez etc 3rd in FIFA rankings . A better TEAM than your beloved Uruguay i think ?

Heard of Paredes before but cant imagine us splashing out £20m on him. I don't doubt that's the money they want, with the likes of Lucas and Oscar going for 30m-40m season before...

By the way, we're back to the Invicibles kit if anyone cares :) So happy. Definitely buying a shirt this year

Brimz I like the old Lazio kits , but that one . Not so sure
Vitesse unveiled a similar one last year , to commererate something to do with the war.

o-VITESSE-570.jpg

Dutch football club Vitesse Arnhem have marked the 68th anniversary of World War II's Battle of Arnhem via their new Nike kit.

The British 1st Airborne Division that fought in the battle wore claret and blue colours, which has prompted Vitesse's switch from their usual yellow and black ensemble.
Also included on the shirt is the slogan 'No Bridge Too Far', a reference to Richard Attenborough's 1977 film A Bridge Too Far, which charted Operation Market Garden's failure to seize several bridges in the occupied Netherlands.

In other news Greedy Roman Abraovich has only gone and insulted the fans again !!

Chelsea Football Club will operate subsidised travel for the following away league games:
Manchester United on Monday 26 August
Everton on Saturday 14 September
Newcastle on Saturday 2 November
Sunderland on Wednesday 4 December

Dont forget lads, world under 20 final tonight on eurosport at 7
France will be favorites as Uruguay were knackered after going to ET and pens in their Semi. But hopefully should be a good game
