A New Era: Harmony in EADD.

I don't often pronounce Ceres, but when I do...

I say "zerez"

I say it 'Seh-rez', I think from playing Final Fantasy VI when I was younger and one of the characters being Celes, and Ceres in the translation, so it stuck in my mind. I also realised recently I'd been pronouncing 'Suikoden' wrong (And at least one of you best have played it). We were like ten when my mate goes 'I got this game called Soo-koh-don' and it only clicked a few years back when I was playin MGS and Psycho Mantis reads your memory card and is all 'so I see you've been playing [swee-ko-den]'. Sorry, tangent there.

ALSO I hate it when people spell my name wrong. I'm Olivia, but go by Oli, it even says Oli on my FB page, but the amount of people who write on my damn wall going 'hey, Ollie...'.

THERE IS ONE L AND NO E AND GOD DAMN YOU IT'S RIGHT THERE IN BIG LETTERS

Sorry

So it should be Snoli? Sounds (well, looks) like a Viking or a Hobbit. Actually more like some other LotR creature but I can't say it given what you've posted previously :D

^ Gotta be Snollz. Or Snoll-de-Roll if in the mood.

Also how come some folks are allowed to have alts such as Yellow Polka Dot Halo because as far as I understand she now uses Nights Epiphany. How come?

Not alts cos the previous accounts are dead. You can have as many accounts as you like as long as you only use one. AFAIK and all that.

if you tell people youve done an IQ test and your iq is <whatever>, then unfortunately you have failed the asshole test.

:P

I tend to agree. However, the subject did come up cos somebody else posted theres and happened to be the same as mine so couldn't help but comment. Did also point out it's very poor taste to mention such things though :D

I know when I started posting back in EADD there was a feeling of the calm after the storm about the same time Farmaz got banned. What was that like for those concerned?

Still a somewhat sore point with me is the Farmaz permaban situation. Definitely caused a shitload of bad feeling at the time but am not a fan of the No Way Back policy at all. Very antithesis of HR. But will cut that short for fear of buggering the harmony as can get quite heated on those kinda issues at times :o

Quotesplurge aside, I concur that EADD is a bit of a PLURfest of late. Usually is though. At least is in my mind. Never been aware of any of these supposed cliques either. Other than the general EADD Clique, I suppose.

Have some <3 you luvverly, luvverly people <3

This.

Iirc he got banned due to a sarcastic post from myself which was unfortunately taken as being serious, leading to the poor sod getting a ban for no good reason.
I remember finding it funny at the time but also feeling a bit guilty. :|

I always read Snolly as 'Snols/z' :) -

Haha, yeah same, it's mostly Snollz that I seem to get here, and I like it :) My best friend from Primary School called me it and it stuck. Many years later, I met a BLer who I had a brief thing with and she would call me 'Snolly' in bed and that just seemed...haha, kinda odd. Maybe it turned her on? I never once heard her call me Oli and Olivia is reserved only for my parents, ex girlfriend, and my old housemate 'because I like it more than Oli'. Also, when I was the only gay in the village, I was Snolesbian for a while.

Snoll-de-Roll also makes me smile, reminds me of an old friend who used to call me Trolley Dolly, for some reason.

Yeah, that struck a sour note with me too. I genuinely like the guy, just wish he'd have kept his head and been a bit more PLUR ;) I was really happy to hear from him after a few months away, we had some pretty good conversations via PM, very different to his public forum persona. Going to have to get him my contact info somehow. I know he acted the cunt, but I'm not one to weigh in on arguments or drama (mostly :sus:) so I kept silent. Wish I hadn't. But yeah aside from my (and your?) personal reasons, I can see the reason for the bannings, I just don't like the idea of a permaban. Even if someone is acting the cunt, this is an HR forum, right?

Anyway PLUR to you all

*vomits at tweeness*

I feel your pain. I can introduce myself in a "Hi, I'm Swampdragon!" way, and get "Nice to meet you, Swa." Complete strangers shorten my name automatically. Drives me crazy.

^Joining the both of you on the frustrated mispronounced/misspelled names front. My name is super common in France but apparently unheard of in english-speaking countries so I had to get used to beign called 'Morgan' all year. It's Morgane dammit. Morg-anne. It isn't complicated. And Morgan's a male name :X

Ah I feel your pain, mine's Farey and I get all sorts of shit. It is actually pronounced Fairy, and apparently comes from Fahey, so I either get 'Far-ee' or 'lol'. Watching my Dad talk to salespeople or business contacts is the funniest thing ever.

'Yes. It's pronounced Fairy.' *is heavily built fifty year old balding man*

edit: as a tie in to either this thread or the other one, I got my last payslip addressed to 'Mr Oliver Fahey'.

Quality admin, there.

Awesome :D
yeah my last name is even worse, completely impossible to pronounce in english. Would appear I wasn't destined for your country :(

Been working with a poor woman called Naja, pronounced Naya. I don't think anyone's ever gotten it right.

You all have pretty names. I'm a bit jealous now.

Totally going to stalk you on Facebook now though, snolly.. :P
