Drugalyser "zero tolerance for some drugs"

It's the one that affects most people, cannabis being used about 5-10x more than any other drug by people. It shows the issue isn't black and white. "Drug use equals impairment" is not even acknowledged by the current law regarding alcohol, it's why we don't have zero tolerance. (Though I'm having it both ways and saying knock is right about the powerful alcohol lobby).

Personalizing the issue means shit but I'm going to anyway. Driven for over 20 years, never had a point, never had a crash. I reckon I've driven over a quarter of a million miles.

I smoke dope.
Well done

What about if drivers over the age of 25 are better because they've had those 8 years practical road experience?

Hahahahahahahahahaha.

You could get those practical skills in purpose built "dodgem cities". Then the roads would be safer for us drug users.

What if the percentage of drivers over 25 is safer because Darwins law has weeded out the idiots on the M25 by then?

The statistics support its necessity. Under 25s are just downright, demonstrably dangerous.

And no-one has the right to drive

Ban them.

Dodgem cities are the answer I tell you. Fuck it, you could just use Milton Keynes.

This argument has nothing to do with drug-drive testing

You are all fucked. You will either change your habits to suit the testing or drive around without a licence.

They have had these tests in Aus for over 5 years and like someone mentioned earlier it is very common for them to set up a drug bus outside a festival or night club district and test everyone leaving. Personally I don't agree with the tolerance setting. I am more distracted with my kids fighting in the back seat than I am 3 days after a pill but until they come out with a better way to test for it then I have just had to adapt.

By adapt I mean take acid and not smoke weed if I am driving home from a doof because they can't test for that :\

Road safety is the issue surely? Or have you some abstract reason for wanting this law?

Anyway, anyone know if there's going to be an allowance for salvia divinorum OR DO I HAVE TO CHANGE MY HABITS THERE TOO?

lol, yep, looks like acid salvia and dmt for long drives in future, I'd far rather have a spliff :(

Yep, and to answer GoS's question ages ago... I'm not "stoned" when I drive. But I have used weed/hash, eaten a gingernut or whatever.

I know one event doesn't set a precedent but the day i crashed I was on edge becasue I hadn't had a spliff for over a day.

Imagine someone, perfectly legally driving to work, they're late so they didn't have time for their morning coffee and cig, they're rushing cos they know they could be late (and maybe like OTW they've got kids being twats in the back of the car), maybe they're trying to drink their morning coffee while driving cos they didn't have time.

I would test positive for recent cannabis use any time I am ever tested. But i still feel I am no danger, I'm not cognitively impaired by it. A few bongs and a load of oral weed/oil/gingernuts and I might be, but I wouldn't think of driving in that situation.

I can't remember the last time anyone looked at me like I was stoned, i can't remember the last time anyone asked me if I was stoned, any time I've been stopped the officers involved have never decided I appear stoned or wanted to search me or my car.

I used to drive on coke a lot when I was younger, and that did make me a worse driver, "Cunt of the Road",..wouldn't do that again now....

The difference between weed high and drunk is an hour or so after a smoke you are back to a baseline where driving is possible. I have been dripping drunk the next morning and in no state to drive.

If you can't drive while being distracted then you shouldn't be behind the wheel. Kids, radio, GPS units, air conditioning all require some level of concentration taken away from the road. If it was that difficult to drive they wouldn't allow mouthy wives to sit next to you giving advise on reading maps and asking for directions.
