This is my first time getting a hold of hydromorphone pills, I have two of them and they are 4mg each, I have been reading many places that when taken orally they suck and are not great at all for an opiate high. I have also read that they are better when snorted, any input? Thanks in advance, also I have never shot up anything and never plan to, so shooting up is definitely out of the question. Thanks again.

Snorting works well, but with your tolerance I doubt that 2 of the 4mg pills will do much for you. I found 8mg snorted to be equal to around 35mg of oral oxycodone.

For hydromorphone the oral BA is 30-35% compared to intranasal which is 52-58% [source].
The comparison that I put was my own personal experience, but this conversion chart says 2mg of hydromorphone is about equal to 5-6.7mg of oxycodone (both oral). That would put 8mg of hydromorphone to be equal to around 20-27mg, and given the BA it's pretty close to my subjective experience of the 8mg of intranasal hydromorphone feeling like 35mg of oxycodone.

Keep in mind that these charts are for analgesic effects (so it compares what doses treat pain the same) and isn't a "what dose of __ gets you as high a dose of __" since that's going to be subjective since everyone is different when it comes to which opiates/opioids they prefer over others.

The only time I've been able to catch a buzz off Hydromorphone was from 24mg Hydromorph Contins insufflated. And even then, I didn't have too much of a tolerance at that time. If You have a moderate to high tolerance, 8mg railed just won't do much. Sorry :(
