Been listening to felix da housecat, DJ pierre and marshall jefferson all week. Cos I'm seeing them all tomorrow for a tenner.

Can't fucking wait. Its gonna be epic.

Who sings that new epic catchy pop song "And the worlds gonna know your name" ? They played it at the end of the Wimbledon show yesterday, with all the footage of Laura Robson. Talk about bigging her up. Is it that Robbie Williams and someone else thing ? Definate number 1 if not already, ive not looked at the singles charts for about 25 years. Do they still do them, or its all downloads now i guess.

EDIT: Google has informed me its by The Script and Will I Am, and it's called Wall Of Fame, was released last year. Hadnt heard it until someone on "The Voice" sang it, and then the original was played on Wimbledon yesterday. Love it.

How come we're embedding vids all of a sudden?

This is so Daft Punk that it hurts, but it's a great tune. And I like promoting little artists.

Liking the SLF stuff, glad to see there's plenty of fans and recognition of them on here. Bits of Kids is one of my fave songs of theirs. But theres so many great tracks to choose from. Gotta Getaway, and Alternative Ulster, Nobodys hero, doesnt make it alright, are right up there. SLF are the loudest band ive ever seen live. They were so loud it was literally painful, and i had titinus for about a week afterwards.

Fucking banging spot on punk. Hitting the spot right now.

And now for something completely different - Starsailor - Fidelity 04:00 onwards. Also track 4 - silence is easy is a top tune 09:00 onwards. I can really relate to the lyrics if that doesnt sound too pretentious ~

and track 6 Shark Food 17:31 very spine tingly. Such an under rated band. Great music to listen to when driving.

cheers buddy :) got right on a punk trip last night the damned are playing york soon one of their favourite haunts

I love the Damneds' cover of The Beatles "Help", and "new rose" and their poppy "grimly fiendish". They are a 'hard punk' band if there's such a thing, i think ive just invented that. Are you gonna see them ?

I'd like to see them play in a small venue, but i guess they are still too big for that, and will still be playing in huge halls. I'll look and see if they're coming to Manchester.

Any Crass fans here - maybe Nagasaki Nightmare or Big A liitle A would be the best introduction to them for newcomers. How i miss the days of punks wearing knackered leather jackets with CRASS (anarchy symbol for the A) on the back.

Crass - Big A Little A (bouncing b - basline ? very clever) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YIdcDL64KCE The bouncy catchy basline comes in @ 3:20 onwards with genius lyrics.

Crass - Nagasaki Nightmare (1980) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a-n86pTJtf4 Doesnt start coming together until about 2:45. The singer sounds like the guy from the B52S, It really takes off at 6:13. So fuckin John Peel. That's a good thing.

Why are there no rebels in music any more ? Has it become a cliche since Spinal Tap :?

well its only fibbers in york they are play a small bar type venue 600 people or so at most i would guess depends really what the lineup is but i doubt it money and my agoraphobia are the main problem these days always loved the fun side to their music

use to have the crass album with the massive poster that came with till someone nicked it big hands big hands big hands :)

just looked it up 10th of the 8th £20 its only dave n captain by the looks of it though

Agrophobia must be terrible. I sometimes have a kind of social agraphobia, like i can feel very self conscious and uncomfortable when loads of people are around. I like wide open natural spaces where there's no people.

Someone was asking on another thread about what divides us and what unites us. I think music is a great 'uniter'. Especially if its very 'out there' stuff.

The Pogues - The Broad Majestic Shannon

The Gaslight Anthem - Miles Davis & The Cool

I think i last listened to the gaslight anthem about 4 years ago when i was fit as a fuckin fiddle, getting a bit tired doing the Helvelyn crag walk circuit (about 15 miles IIRC) Man it put hell of a spring back into my step with this on my mp3 player. Pure natural high.

Bruce Springsteen - I'm On Fire

Im also a springsteen fan, no hiding in closets

Bruce Springsteen - Darkness On The Edge Of Town (1978) Full Album
