I mentioned this quickly in PD as well but I'm sure plenty of people here can answer too :D

Right, I took 100mg of aMT friday night, it lasted a good 24 hours (without any problems, went great) and since last night I've been feeling really...weird. I've been getting both closed and open eyed visuals (not very strong, but I won't stop seeing vague shapes floating around in the corner of my eye), I'm very dizzy and confused (hard to follow what's going on), nauseous, agitated (which is stopping me from sleeping despite being exhausted), and I've also got a fairly high fever coupled with clamminess/sweatiness and all that. I'd just assume I'm sick but it's the visuals and confusion and the fact that it started very soon after a massive psyche trip that's worrying me a little. Actually it started right about the time I took some codeine & xanax last night but I doubt that would have much to do with it...?
Anyway does anyone have any experience with that? / Know if it's something worth worrying about or just wait and see? It did get me off work today but still, it's not so pleasant :|

ty!

I don't think it's SS, Pagey. The effects of psychs have a way of lasting a bit longer than they "should" but in my experience they pass soon enough. Best cure is not to worry about them!

K cool thanks! I was getting a bit worried because these 'after effects' or whatever are much stronger than usual, but to be fair it was also a much higher dose than usual.

aMT lasts and lasts. I get this more so from my mushie usage but every now and then long after the experience I would get waves. A little reminder of your trip. Mushie waves go on for years. They get farther and farther apart but every now and then I get an effect similar to if someone just blew a handful of silver glitter in my face.

Once I was driving on the motorway and I felt a wave coming on. This was a while after mushies. It hit and the sky turned pink and I was transported into a bubble on my windscreen. Only lasted seconds thankfully and nothing came of it but it can be frightening at times. Also taking off in an airplane seems to trigger it. The whole cabin turns pink and all I want to do is giggle.

It will pass Pagey. I hope.

Yeah - it's more that this really doesn't feel good at all, nor does it feel much like aMT really. But I'll just wait for it to pass then.

It must be fun to take a plane with you though :D

True...I've slept about 10 hours in the past 3 days and I haven't been able to eat anything either because well I just feel very sick. Maybe it's a case of hungry --> feel sick --> can't eat --> hungry --> etc...
Idk it's just a very strange feeling.

Last time I experienced serotonin syndrome I had:
Electric zaps which felt like they took place right in my brain.
Very vivid OEV and when the visuals take place you experience the same going out as standing up too fast or being under a very hot shower for too long, sort of like passing out.
Emotional instability
Constant "falling asleep" and being in a grey/white "dream" place which felt horrid and absolutely terrifying since I had the sensation that I couldn't breathe for hours and then i'd "emerge" again to reality from this grey world not exactly understanding what is what and then succumbing to it again, this would go on for hours.
A headache comparable to pressure being applied to the head.
Dissociation.

I think you're just experiencing lack of sleep. Drugs tend to exacerbate that. I felt kind of the same on Sunday after two days of amphetamine.

Ah thanks that was very helpful. I was mostly going by those webmd type websites because I wasn't managing to find any detailed reports and my symptoms fit with what they say on those, but it's certainly more helpful to hear it from someone who's actually experienced it. I've been getting everything you mentioned but it's been very very weak - oh except they 'dream' place, although my chest does feel tight. Ah well, it doesn't sound nearly as bad as what you had so I guess it's nothing to worry about.

Try get some rest. Drink plenty of fluids and try and eat something.

Hope you feel better soon Pagey.

That's the plan. thanks :)

Shambles has also had SS and he describes it as very painful, it doesn't sound like you're in actual pain.

It's mostly very uncomfortable and kinda painful but certainly not 'very' painful. I didn't think ti was anything too dramatic but don't know much about it so just wanted to check :)

I once had the worst headache of my life due to taking too much 4-FA whilst being on an SSRI. No pain killers or lying down in a dark room helped. I randomly discovered that puking my guts out was the solution, after taking some AH7921 to try to ease the pain. It certainly did, but only 'cos it ejected the contents of my stomach and whatever was causing the problem along with it. The pain lifted immediately.

I dont know if that was SS. I have a feeling it might have been. I cant think of any other drug that has given me a headache, let alone such a violent one, whilst on it. It's a very common day after feeling for me to have moderate, more annoying than painful headaches, due to dehydration, on the day after a stim binge.

Shambles: if you happen to read this thread, and this post, what were the symptoms that you experienced ? (if you dont mind me asking)

I did see this thread but had only just gotten up and was kinda bleary-eyed so dropped Pagey a PM instead cos I'm sure most are sick to death of hearing about my lil run-in with SS ;)

But once more with feeling...

It started off with feeling excessively drowsy to the point of dozing off for a while. I woke very suddenly some time (dunno how long but not very long) later feeling extremely stimulated, hot and sweaty. A bit manic really, and starting to feel a bit confused. At this point I started to march back and forth to work off some of the excess energy and stripped nekkid whilst I was at it cos I was so stupidly hot. It all gets a bit patchy after that but the bits I recall were...

Delirium: I thought I was a pagan storm god and I could very clearly see the world laid out below me (complete with mountains and oceans and weather and stuff) and it was my duty as stormgod to bring rain (yes, to wash away the filth and the scum etc). This involved a lotta pissing. A helluva lotta pissing for most of the night. Place was a fukkin mess the next day I can assure you.

Convulsions: At times I was flexed backward to such an extent I thought my spine would surely snap - really was virtually able to touch my heels with the back of my head at times. This was not pleasant. At all.

Pain: This was beyond imagination. I still can't believe it's possible to be in so much pain and not actually die. It was truly indescribable so actually can't describe it. Whatever you are thinking, it was a helluva lot worse than that. If I'd been capable of action I would have killed myself on the spot without a second thought just to make it stop.

Aside from that there was the overheating and sweatiness which was truly extreme but I have no way of quantifying that other than I was rather hot and bothered to say the least. But mostly it's all a blur of pain, convulsions and delirium. And pain. Above all there was the pain. And the madness. That was also quite the feature. Oh, and the convulsions. They were hard to ignore. And the pain. Oh fuck yes the pain... It lasted a few hours but thankfully I only remember brief flashes.

AFAIK, SS is an acute reaction to excessive serotonin - essentially acute serotonin poisoning - so unlikely to occur several days after taking aMT when serotonin levels will actually be depleted. But am no doctor so will simply wish Pagey a swift recovery <3

Ouch. Maybe it was just the overdoing a stimulant that caused it? Back when I shot coke I would always get the most insane headaches when it wore off just from clenching everything...although it doesn't sound as bad as what you got :\
Ah wait no I just saw that was while you were high...huh. Way to ruin the experience.
