got a phone call at 7.30am this morning, witheld number, answered it cautiously.. hello, is that mr bhm

why yes, yes it is. who is this..

this is the police

my mind suddenly sprung into action - grasping at the vague recollection i was still on bail to surrender myself at brierley hill police station following the raid on my flat & subsequent discovery of a mystery & largely forgotten-about stimulant substance, all too poorly secreted away within my living room. i expected to be informed a warrant had been issued for my arrest due to non-appearence, luckily for me.. it was tomorrow i was supposed to go in. phew

he informed me the lab-testers were drawing a blank - after 2months - and could i instead come on the 11th july

no clue what it is. appears somewhat like soft crack, with a mild stimulant effect & acrid taste when smoked

anyone know how the analysing process works, is it singular elimination or cross ref? is +2months usual? ..and do i get it back if they cant ID it? %)

they start with the cheapest tests and work their way up to more expensive lab procedures presumably if they are drawing blanks, I would have thought.

But the police do have access to some very sophisticated gear these days certainly capable of identifying exactly what it is beyond doubt.

If it isn't what you *thought* it was, did you still commit a crime by having something you thought was something you shouldn;t have had in your posessions...hmmm.

i know what youre referring to, but i believe that is mostly enacted for drug busts to nick people either with or with intent to sell - something purporting to be an illegal substance (flogging brick-dust to undercovers and what not)

from the start i have told them i would be as interested as them to find out what it is. its not a big issue, only very small amount - perhaps .3g - even at worst, another class a possession charge isnt going to make a huge difference to my life

..would love to go pick it back up though

why arent these more advanced techniques employed straight away.. cost? if so, are the obliged to identify it no matter what the economics involved dictate :?

Maybe they're looking for drug and there isn't any.

there is almost certainly some active drug in there, as it is a stimulant - if i had to take a guess id say some sort of legal high/rc rip off crack-analogue. it could possibly pass as crack to the uninitiated, were it not foul-tasting. i considered it may have been a fuck up attempt at a cut, though im assuming they wouldve confirmed a simple cocaine mix were that the case

didnt cost me anything and i now wished i had thrown it out long ago - however, discarding free drugs just feels wrong, somehow..

Discarding any drugs is wrong. EADD is full of people who (apparently) flush drugs. Always found that bizarre personally.

morpho

a lot of police forces have these peoples equipment being deployed now, they can rapidly identify stuff but it relies on a fingerprint already existing in their database.

if things like that or spot test kits don't provide an immediate clue I'd =presume they will just send it to a lab that can do GC/MS on it, UV/VIS spectrtometery and so on and identify it with a high degree of accuracy but obviously that isn't cheap and is time consuming.

I'm ashamed to be part of this group.

In my defense I was in a fully fledged battle against several police officers. One of whom was bashing/kicking my bathroom door in and I was struggling to keep the f*cker out.

As it turned out I was just going legitimately crazy from shooting too much cocaine.
Lesson learned. 8( :! :|
