So the third time I dropped for a festival I dropped a bit more than usual (1 and a half pills instead of 1). Long story short I had a really anxious come up. Whilst we didn't test the pills they have appeared on pill reports as MDxx (dw learned my lesson about dropping without testing), though myself and the other guys who dropped suspected MDA due to higher stimulant and hallucinogen properties with slightly lower empathy than usual. One of the most anxiety provoking occurrences of the come up was a slight (probably pain level 3-4) burning sensation inside the cranial on the crown of my brain. It felt like my brain was burning. It was a hot day so I sat down with good friends who poured cold water on my head, gave me slow sips out of a drinking bottle and generally calmed me down while we talked out whether I needed to go to ER. The sensation and anxiety stopped within about 15 minutes and I began to feel quite good. Since then I have noticed that I occasionally get a burning sensation inside the head on the crown which subsides after about 10 minutes. I've had no other symptoms and in fact enjoyed a very chilled , peaceful come down. So today's lucky question is, has anyone else experienced this?

I don't believe that I've ever had anything of the sort happen to me, nor have a heard stories of it happening to anyone else. My best bet would be that if you're feeling okay asides the occasion "head burning" is just keep up with your normal living style and if it tends to progress then go see a doctor, you're brain is not something that needs to be messed with and is a pretty vital thing for living your everyday life.

Hope this helped, and wishing you a speedy recovery mate.

I used to get a "burning brain" feeling from drinking alcohol. So I don't really drink alcohol much anymore.
Unpleasant feeling. It's probably subjective, but there again ...

I often get a "burning feeling" if I dose too high. 150mg and up. It will go away when the peak hits but can be quite disturbing. Got something similar when I had a mild serotonin syndrome from mdma too.

It feels more like electricity or prickles or like my skull is falling asleep....and its on the outside of my brain no deep into it....is this what you are talking about? I like it and think it feels good

I had a brain burning feeling, almost like it got hit by lightning, but it was not from MDMA. I believe it was this http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/25I-NBOMe

It is often passed off as LSD (which is how I obtained it) but idk if this can come in pill form.

it can't as Nbome's are not orally active, they wont work if you swallow them, must be absorbed sublingually

Interesting point so how do you take them? from a little reading it seems you have to keep them in your mouth but would be interested to know any experience you have had with them.

^^You have to leave them under your tounge for 20-30 minutes if the nbome is on blotter paper ime. It leaves an extremely bitter taste in your mouth for a good while afterward and causes significant numbing where ever the blotter was in your mouth.

best to bite the paper every ten minutes or so releasing fresh chemical and leave it under the tounge. DONT SWALLOW (even your saliva) if u let it absorb through your mouth you are in for it. I hear of people doing 2 or3 blotters of Nbomes, I just dont think that are taking them correctly because half a blotter (550ug) had LucidDreamer looking at crumbling/melting buildings.

if it was a hot day, sure you wasnt just being paranoid? ;o
or did you snort the pills, because obviously sometimes they say sniffing things.. can affect the brain.. pills are spose to be oral not nostril lol

The burning can't be in your brain because the brain itself cannot experience tactile sensations. It is likely related to blood vessels or nerves in the area, either just beneath the skull or even under the scalp.

Burning or pain at the apex of the head can be related to the occipital nerves, which is often aggravated by neck strain. Sometimes, high dose MDMA leading to toxicity can cause damage to the occipital nerve group, but I can't really say if that's what is happening in your case. I just know I've read of cases where people have to get an occipital nerve block procedure for pain and burning that you're describing because it doesn't go away, and it involves the doctor using an injection to numb the nerve.

Normally the occipital nerve group is involved in migraine headaches, and migraines themselves are due to a drop in serotonin in the brain for reasons unknown. Because MDMA is serotonergic, there is a relationship between it and vertex burning/pain via the ONG. I suspect that in those susceptible, the serotonin drop from an MDMA come-down likely plays a role in this sensation.

Because your problem is intermittent and not constant, I would wager that you're not in any danger. Just lay off MDMA for a while, eat well and maintain a balanced lifestyle. Minor nerve damage or inflammation can often be repaired over time, if that's what this is.
