^I guess if I made a statement like, "IV cocaine will ruin your life"... It might not be true in all cases, and it would be my opinion!..... I don't think "Verso" is an idiot or anything like that...but the whole idea of IV cocaine being just a "normal thing that some people can manage and some people can't" seems kind of ridiculous to me in light of what I've experienced in my life....IVing cocaine is one of the most high-risk recreational activities I've personally engaged in...can't really think of a completely safe way to go about doing it!...It's kind of inherently dangerous on it's own!

Some of the posts people make on BL in general about certain drugs, drugs that the vast majority of anyone I've ever known that's done them more than twice has completely screwed their lives up....It's like, are these people living in a different world than me?!

I have people who have only ever ordered heroin and cocaine online a couple of times acting like I'm an idiot for suggesting that most people that mess with these drugs get burned and end up having a problem with them!

Like I'm in the minority because I got addicted to heroin, and if I had only been able to "control myself" and "be responsible" like most of the other heroin users in the world are, I'd be just fine

Everybody I've ever met who's IVd H and coke and been around other people who have for more than...say, a year, pretty much knows that IVing these drugs is a virtual guarantee of ruining your life! It's just a matter of time!
 
Not to make vast generalizations....heroin ruined my life. Going from Opana 20mg x3/day & Oxy 15 IR's, to heroin when I ran out, was a poor decision. Sure the IV heroin worked great, and was cheaper than those meds(to start), but worked myself up to 2g a day habit, which was....very expensive. The actual event that really fucked me up was due to a different medication, but it wasn't sustainable, not at that price. Great idea to start right off with the IV heroin due to my tolly, right? At first, sure.

Brilliant stuff, heroin. If you can control it...don't know anyone that can, however. I'm sure there are Bluelighters that can, but not me or mine.

IV coke, well I don't know anyone that does it, only rockheads. Lots of em, and they can't control the pipe, so I can't imagine those crackheads with rigs full of coke. Just saying! I've avoided coke as much as I can, due to the horror stories I've heard on here, from...unnamed parties, that's only fair, right?

Oh well, I wasn't going to moan, but hey ho, what do you do? Just my straight up opinions.

^^i second this entirely and the poster before. second time I shot H I knew I was fucked. its like a switch flipped in my head, but somehow I managed to tell myself "I can be the exception. I'm not gonna do all that crazy shit the other junkies I know do" and then 2-3 years later I'm thinking "wow, that escalated pretty quickly" and realized shit got fucked up pretty damn fast. pop on over to nasadd Chicago heroin thread, usually its pretty happy go noddy. now its some sports talk and people going to rehab. I feel the new "bluelight transition" is: regular drug forums>the dark side>sober living/bluelight shrine.
 
All I can ever base my opinions on is my own personal experience. I've been using for over 10 years and probably met thousands and thousands of junkies (A pretty significant sample population if we're talking statistics) and out of alllllll of those H addicts, I've met nobody, not one person, who was able to chip using IV H and coke for any even semi-long time.. So what does that tell you? And none of my friends, who also have come into contact with thousands of addicts over their own lives, have ever met anyone who could do it either...

At some point, the proof is just in the pudding and things are what they are.
 
I wouldn't recommend anyone to switch to IV, regardless of what they're using....but I especially would warn against shooting cocaine! Aside from the rush you get from shooting, the heroin high is basically the same no matter how use it, and you can only really get a good rush from shooting it if it's been awhile since your last shot....

IV cocaine is so short lived and the rush is so fucking scary...You just keep wanting to shoot more and more and more.....From an HR perspective, it murders your veins! One night of IV cocaine will have your arm sore for a week! And mixing it with heroin? Most H users have a hard enough time affording their habits as it is, throwing cocaine on top of it just makes it sooo much worse so fast!

It's been the downfall of many people who could actually kind of manage their dope habits....It starts off that you may get a little bit to do with your dope, as a treat or whatever...Very shortly afterwards you want it all the time and you're no longer satisfied with just heroin! It clouds your thinking and can lead to some really poor decisions...

Sorry to keep lecturing about this, but I wouldn't want anyone who's a casual coke snorter to think that IVing it is just another way to use it....
 
I have been injecting for 4 years and have extensive iv drug experience with mxe, mdma, heroin, meth, all cathinones, 4fma, 4fa, and a fuckton of various other RC's that i cant remember off the top of my head.

It's def had its ups and downs with heroin and meth i am off those now thank god od'd of meth twice and died off heroin once. After i died of h i knew it was time to quit. I was braindead for 5 minutes no heart beat no breathing i am so lucky to be alive and live every day like it's my last now and am more responsible with my drug use.
 
I have been injecting speed since I was 15 years old and am now about to turn 27. I'm sick of it.
 
I voted no because, on the whole, no I don't IV...I have and I use to a bit when I was younger, but these days I might IM ketamine a couple of times a year- if that.

It's just not something I've ever been that keen on getting in to I suppose. Just seems to make things a whole lot simplier not IV'ing.

lol, I'm glad you're enjoying yourself. Lately, what I thought was impossible is coming true-that is, I'm growing to despise I.V. drugs. I really don't know what happened with my, I've been injecting for only six years, I'm only 25, but I literally have almost no veins left in both arms and hands. I don't even understand how I'm still alive, what with the lack of circulation that must be going on. I basically just wanted to make this post because I'm wondering if I'm the only one that actually shoots into the tiny veins of ones palm or sometimes along the length of a finger? It's a hideous practice, and to be honest, as a moderator on a harm reduction site, I'm really embarrassed that I've gotten to this level of absolute depravity...Has anyone else here watched their own vein explode? I swear to god, the perverse pleasure I used to get when I'd hit a nice flowing vein is a thing of the distant past, I've honestly gotten so fed up looking for these bastards that I've even ended up plugging expensive 'solutions' out of frustration...Anyway, I hope no one else has to deal with this shit, quit while you're ahead...Actually, I just realized, this is the first time I've gone over 24 hours without heroin, and I'm not planning on picking any up tonight either.

I haven't fucked up my arm veins beyond use, but they're not anywhere near as easy as they use to be to hit. I use my calf when I need too. Hands are a last resort for me.

I'm on the bupe bandwagon right now myself....but 6 months ago I had over a year off everything....Even the bupe dulls my creativity and emotions.

I get all skinyy and grey when I'm using dope, but I swear, it's kept me from aging somehow....I don't wanna jinx myself, but maybe the suppression of hormones has something to do with it...when I stop doing dope, it's almost like using steroids! I gain 20 pounds of muscle in a few months! It's crazy!

Yeah I know a lot of people who say that. That the smack keeps them looking young, clears up acne, etc. Those haggard looking junkies people see, it's usually because they are also alcoholics or crack heads, (two drugs which do really fuck up your body/looks).

Well, if you're an addict who gets off on constantly re-dosing more than the actual high, then by all means. Such a person would probably really like a placebo too.

But I actually like to feel a drug last for quite some time, not like 5-10 minutes, unless I want to have a super intense spiritual experience with IV DMT again.

This is why I will always IM ketamine instead of IVing it. And why I also switched back to IM buprenorphine.

I just don't get the point of a drug that doesn't last long enough for you to do much on it before you start coming down...seems a bit disappointing tbph.

Not to mention cocaine's propensity for causing high blood pressure...

Well you're talking about addicts.

I've introduced people to heroin (something I would never do again and I'm not proud of this), and I intentionally only would let them use 1 to 3 days max before I'd cut them off (they couldn't find it on their own)... only a few people would panic and keep begging for more on the 4th day... most people were like "oh well that was cool" and then they would get down with me 1 or 2 nights a month, but wouldn't feel the propensity to beg and beg for more.

Not a lot of people get addicted to heroin, just enough that it makes it NOT worth trying, because if you happen to be that 1 out of X number of people (I would say 1 out of 3 or 4, but I would hate to put a number on it and be wrong), then you'll seriously regret having tried it.
 
Out of all the people I know who use dope, 1/~300 could chip but he was an IV Meth user who used it soften come Downs after like 5-7day binges on the ice. Otherwise every chipper I know did not use a rig. I feel once you IV heroin, its pretty much game over. It was for me anyway. Snorting it I had a mental obsession with it but kicked it easily. But IV, I craved it, needed it, or I'd feel like I'm losing my mind.

Yeah, picking up the needle certainly changes things.
 
There have been a few people I knew that tried shooting it once because they happened to be with a bunch of us doing it , and a few of those people managed to not keep doing it, but usually...once you get that first rush, if you go looking do to do it a second time, that's all she wrote...I don't know anyone who ever started chipping that stopped before it turned into a full-blown habit!

It's funny to read about people on here acting all holier than thou thinking they're gonna be able to control IV coke, heroin and meth....Everyone thinks they're gonna be the one that gets it and we're the stupid ones for "letting it get out of control!"....

The longer you do something and the more experience with it you have, the more qualified you are to comment on it! Why do people get so touchy when it's suggested to them that maybe they actually don't know everything! IDU is not something you wanna be an expert at!

I could read about working on cars for 6 months and probably learn quite a bit doing it, but that doesn't mean I'm gonna go on a automotive forum and start preaching to everyone about how to fix their cars!

I used to believe this, but now I believe that it is more than likely just coincidence; you sniff it when you're still in that sort of experimental, "chipping" phase but then switch over to shooting it at the same time you begin moving into that everyday, addiction phase.

I only say that because, for us, after sniffing dope for nearly three years, our use both in frequency of use and the amount we used did not change after making the switch to IV use. If anything, we began to use less frequently and use less dope, but in all honesty and in all sincerity, it has stayed relatively the same.
