Be Careful About Everyday Usage of Cannabis

Fucking beautiful. This all sums up my experience with mdma.. Its a fucking tool for the betterment of myself. Life changing effects from my rolls..

I smoke weed everyday. I now understand my depersonalized feeling.
Thank you.

Now to stop smoking this often..

holy shit I didn't read all of this but by everyone's attitude im starting to worry

amen.

the fact is, some people can handle weed every day, and even benefit from it, while others cannot.

personally, i tend to go through cycles... smoke for a month or two, all day every day, until i can hardly tell the difference between being high and being sober (ive never had anxiety, or any negative effect from weed really. it actually mellows out my mood and makes me not so high-strung, which i usually am. im much more pleasant to be around when stoned than when sober :P). then, i take a break for a couple weeks or a month, and repeat the cycle.

weed is very addictive for me, but i have found one thing for certain: when it comes time to take a break, the first 2-3 days of not smoking (cold turkey quit obv) i get mad cravings for weed 24/7. its all i can think about and all i want for those days. then, it completely disappears, just like that. i no longer feel the need to get high, i dont crave very often if ever (and cravings are weak if i do), and staying away from it becomes very easy.

I agree. I have been a monstrous heroin- methadone- Lyrica- (WORST OF ALL!) Benzo- Speed- and whatever-addict for decades. But I have stopped all that including nicotine and ppl can sit and shoot in front of me withouth me thinking anything but "OMG how horrible to be chained! Cannabis never really interested me, but I EAT it - don't smoke anything now - cause it helps my stomach like nothing else does. BUT - like all Medical plants - I am very careful not to do it more than 2-3 times a week, and not in big quantities. I have found out that if I do it everyday, I need it more and more and in bigger doses. And then I do not feel well for several Days. I don't want to get stoned anymore, just helping with my stomach. Lets face it, Hemp is one of the ancient wonder plants when it comes to Health...Pantagruelion is rather an understatement!

I'm sure it somewhat boils down to personal preferences, but I honestly prefer the clarity of mind that you simply can't get when smoking cannabis every day. Smoking every day also makes you lose out on some of the most profound effects of cannabis, when toking every day cannabis sort of transforms from a psychedelic to a rather mundane relaxant, which isn't a bad thing per se though. When you smoke every day for months to years, ceasing the smoking can be a psychedelic experience in itself. There's plenty of reasons why not to smoke every day, not all of them related strictly to harm reduction either even though you could argue that generally less smoking = better harm reduction.
Very good post. Much more convincing than the OP.

OP sounds like some kind of pseudo-intellectual internet article.

Wow man amazing post thank you.

I have been battling dissociation for years... I literally stopped breathing for like 10 seconds just reflecting on this:

"The fact is: If you’re having dissociative feelings when you’re not high, it’s time to roll back. "

I agree with everything you said OP. Excellent post. I also got addicted to smoking herb every day in my youth. I had so much potential with psychedelics, because I am very good at understanding the meaning of the experience and integrating it. But I got obsessed with the experience itself and did not see that it was ultimately empty. My biggest mistake was my failure to see that I did not need psychedelics to grow spiritually. I lacked the confidence (or faith) and the discipline to pursue spiritual growth without the aid of cannabis to keep in a meditative state of mind. It all ended in disaster. Instead of becoming enlightened, I became a paranoid wreck who had no idea how to go about spiritual practice without the aid of drugs.

After years of laying off psychedelics and learning more about the spiritual path, I have begun using them again with great results. Still though, I struggle with the urge to smoke cannabis every day. Because I am so good at using psychedelics, it is almost no problem for me to reach states of complete ecstasy with just a small dose of cannabis and meditation. Knowing I am only a couple of puffs away from complete ecstasy, makes it incredibly difficult for me to resist smoking cannabis all the time.

A lot of LSD studies done back in the day were done using an isolation tank type setting.
I approve of clinical studies, because those NEED to be done. We don't know much about LSD still. Gotta let the scientists, doctors, and psychologists do their job. In fair time LSD and Psilocybin will be introduced into the medical world. It might take some time though.

Wayyy to long bro, probably because I've smoked everyday for years.
tl;dr for the people who are already fucked?

same here. Drugs are tools NOT toys... such a shame nobody knows about the truth these days

I had a kind-of similar experience tripping on DXM with 3 of my best friends a few years ago. My one friend broke out in hives, was freaking out, and myself and two other friends were taking care of him and what-not. Towards the end of our trip (lasted a VERY long time, definitely could not sleep), we all just felt like we were emotionally closer than we were before. Its hard to explain. Just knowing that we all just went through that experience together and felt the same effects, just made some kind of bond between us. Would definitely like to experiment with some other psychedelics.

And also, anxiety from cannabis COULD be a problem for some people. And yes i know, if its a problem, then don't smoke it. I started getting severe anxiety from weed about 3-4 years after heavy use, and continued to use for about a year after that. Haven't smoked in about a year, and I can't necessarily say that it was because of my weed use, but to this day, i suffer from social anxiety MUCH worse than before i started smoking weed. Unless i'm on an opiate or a benzo

Personally, although marijuana has never induced any anxiety problems for me in about 7 years of use, I have found that daily smoking for extended periods of time makes me desire altered states in general more often and can leads to increased use of alcohol or other substances.

That being said, I think that to focus on parts of the OP regarding cannabis is to miss the bigger picture of this wonderful post. Much of what I read inspired me and felt as though it was written specifically more me, and it sounds like many others identified with your writing as well. Your message on reaping the benefits of self-control in psychedelic drug use is spot on and I thank you for taking the time to share your experience :)

Personally, using marijuana in the form of a bong rip once every two to three hours is how I get the most out of life. Using any other drugs at all disrupts the harmony and balance I get out of using weed at this rate. Using weed any more than this will make me very lazy, and using weed any less will cause me to be more of an egotistical person and less chill.

Man, tons of people smoke weed every day and are living the best version of themselves. It sounds like that's not the case for you. Of course many of them are burnouts too, since there is a fine line between use and overuse. However, there are a few people out there who used LSD or another strong drug just once, and would testify that it ruined their minds. I personally would advise that nobody in their right mind ever even so much as touch acid, and that those stronger psychedelics are complete and utter nonsense compared to the chillness of weed, which it is really difficult to do long term damage to yourself with. I personally used LSD a handful of times, and it fucked up my cardiovascular system due to how vasoconstrictive it is. I nearly died from the cardiovascular stress on a large dose of acid - that would never happen with weed.

I liked your post until the last part. That would never happen with LSD either, and as far as I know it's safer than THC.

Everything I heard about acid made it seem very safe. That's why I was surprised when I was downright assaulted with a variety of short term dangerous physical side effects during the high, and a plethora of long term very uncomfortable physical side effects after the high. Not even brain damage, it just fucked my cardiovascular system up from the insane vasoconstriction, and caused my skeleton an incredible amount of stress through muscle tension. Having taken LSD a handful of times, I will never use it again - I consider it to be one of the worst choices I have made in life, and it's nothing but shit for me. Of course your mileage will vary, but who knows what you are even consuming on that paper anymore after the introduction of RC's?

I think that it is much more important to stay completely, 100% free of all street chemical drugs, than it is to worry about how much pot you have been smoking lately. I say this because I have smoked pot tens of thousands of times, and I am basically still loving it and using it and learning from it, whereas I can count with my fingers the number of times I took acid before I realized that I didn't like acid anymore because of the horrible side effects that it had on my body.

As someone who is oriented towards a healthy, natural lifestyle through constant dope use, it seems a hell of a lot wiser to trust mother nature over unqualified criminals and use shrooms over acid if a stronger experience is desired. My own experiences agree with this, since I've taken psilocin hundreds of times without ever getting burned by it.

^^ Sorry about your experience, but you were most probably sold a dud as real LSD doesn't have any of these effects you describe. It sucks how dealers are misrepresenting these new analogues as it is dangerous when you don't know what you're taking.

Excellent post OP , I have been thinking the exact same thing for a while now. Any drug should not be used everyday to the point that it becomes less effective, unless you are using that drug for medicinal purposes, which then should have a regular cycle on cycle off to maximise drug efficiency. I completely agree how drugs should be used for self improvement and transcendental learning, and one shouldn't use them just to get high or for thrills and should see that getting high and getting thrills are just pleasant side effects.
