Nice pics of Luke Brown in link. Police in BC give zero fucks. Oh and using the same return addy on every piece of mail is such a bad idea. Printer should have taken the free LSD he was scoring.

Vancouver company intercepts LSD-laced mail

Cancellation mark on the postage stamp indicates letters were mailed from Vancouver

A Vancouver printing company believes they have uncovered an international LSD trafficking ring that is shipping drugs using their name.

Over the past six months, JukeboxPrint.com says they received three pieces of mail, which at first glance, appeared to be returned to them because of a wrong address.

The company sent these stickers to a lab and discovered they were laced with LSD. (CBC)But upon closer inspection, operations manager Scott Mills said something was clearly amiss.

The envelopes were printed with low resolution Jukebox logos, and inside, entire paragraphs from the company’s website were lifted and printed on a flyer. But tucked in between the pages were small, square stickers.

"The stickers were a little eerie looking," Mills said. "They had psychedelic pictures on it. They were thicker."

Mills said the company called Vancouver Police, but the last officer they spoke to said the mystery envelopes were just junk mail and advised them to put the letters in the garbage.

But Mills sent the stickers to a lab instead and discovered they were laced with LSD.

The illegal hallucinogen – which is odourless, colourless and tasteless – is often painted onto small pieces of paper that people lick or swallow.

Operations manager Scott Mills worries the printing materials the company sends to its clients could be flagged by international customs. (CBC)"Our worst fears were realized," Mills said. "It could potentially be a drug smuggling ring going internationally because each of the three envelopes that we got returned were from the States."

The Gastown-based company, which prints and ships business cards and other promotional materials to people and businesses all around the world, says they want people to know they are not shipping LSD.

Mills worries that the printing materials Jukebox sends to its clients could be flagged by international customs.

Meanwhile, Vancouver police now admit it was a mistake to dismiss the company’s concerns.

"We’re taking this very seriously. This may be the tip of the iceberg," said VPD spokesman Sgt. Randy Fincham.

"There may be a small number of packages returned to the company but possibly a larger number reached their intended recipients, whether in the U.S., other areas in Canada or possibly foreign countries."

There is one potential clue found on the envelopes: the cancellation mark applied on the postage stamp indicates the letters were originally mailed from Vancouver, which means whoever stole Jukebox's identity isn't far away

For sure its SR. They shouldnt have used same return address more than once for this very reason, people notice multiple letters they didnt send coming back return to sender. I paused the video when they showed the envelope, it looked pretty legit like a real business letter. It sounds like their stealth is good since 3 letters went thru US customs and back thru canadian customs and none found the LSD. As long as the senders didnt leave prints they won't be caught.

No, pretty clever, actually. Using the same address isn't wise, but taking a real companies information, making it look like junk mail? that's clever. It didn't get caught because no one would have thought to look for drugs in junk mail.

i didn't like receiving drugs in the mail, it's a risky thing to do, but I used to do it all the time, for illegal things (that's really the only way to get the legal things unless you synthesize them yourself, and then you're obtaining reagents through the mail). Poppy pods, hydrocodone, diazepam, 2C-B, Iprocin, that was good. I used to buy like 100 pods per week. I had the campus police temporarily seize a package full of poppy pods, but had to give it back when they couldn't get their dog to react to it. I didn't even know about it until weeks later, though.

Receiving drugs in the mail carries musk less risk than buying them fase to fase unless you sign for the package. Worst case is that LE send you a love letter stating, Hey Bob Loblaw we have a package with your name on it, but we think it contains 10g of heroin! If you think this is bullshit, feel free to contact our office :).

They broke one of the key rules: NEVER use a real return address.

Don't use your own address, yeah. But using 123 fake street as a return address is a bad idea too. What happens to letters that are undeliverable and unreturnable? I can only assume the PO opens them, and then begins an investigation. I would rather some random business opens that. It's Vancouver anyway, if you want a return address that won't call anyone use an asian business. Asian people never rat.

Packages get sent to an "undeliverable mail" warehouse where you can claim them. in America, at least.

Asian people never rat.

You made me think of the "hundred flowers" campaign in China in the 1950s, when the government tricked hundreds of thousands of people (primarily intellectuals) into turning in themselves and their friends and families by encouraging them to express their honest views of the political party/system. They promised an open attitude and to try to take their viewpoints into consideration as they built China anew.
Just a few months later, all who had said anything against Mao were put into labor camps.
Against this background, I got a hearty laugh from reading your stunning generalization.

Too bad they didn't just soak the business cards in LSD instead of using psychedelic paper. Might have gone undetected.

I like the way these stories read like, "...nothing evades our detection!". The reality is they just got very, very lucky. Once.

Now, how many pages of potentially acid-soaked paper are there in a book?

"How much you want to bet this is related to SR" "this is SR for sure"

You know people have been mailing drugs well before SR was invented, SR probally makes up about 5% of total drugs mailed also at the most, its not huge.

Also

"They broke one of the key rules NEVER use a real return address" - Bob Obviously. never get into the drug mail business yeah?

You know in training of postal staff, post that gets FLAGGED to be opened is a fake return address, or no return address. Its smart, so theyve discovered someone is using there business as a return address, so fucking what? it gets the police absolutely no closer to finding out who it was, they just change to a different business.

Is this a for sure thing? How can they prove you ordered it? I mean if a package comes for me and my adult son happens to answer the door and I am not home he is going to sign for it because he will assume it is legit and that it is something for me. Then I come home and say what the hell is this...then who would be responsible? I mean he certainly would have no idea if I were to have drugs sent in mail. (By no means am I being argumentative here with you, I'm seriously wondering).

I had always heard that if you received something like that through the mail (no signature required because a lot won't send it that way) then you should walk in with mail, come back out immediately and toss that piece of mail in your trash can. That way if LE was watching you could say "when I saw what that was (or I have no idea what that was) I tossed it straight into the trash. I certainly didnt order that". Then later you retrieve from the trash if there is no problems!

NOTE to MOD: if this is not appropriate discussion please delete it and accept my apology. Just very curious about how the law sees this.

Also,I was surprised to hear that before SR (and other than them now) that a lot of drugs are sent through the mail. I mean I know there are online pharmacies and all but is there a lot of other transaction through the mail, I guess like is it dealers and such? Or do you mean online places sending it?

Just really curious.

I think the advent of the RC market has obviously produced alot of confusion about legality around the world, with different countries banning different things & end users simply ordering what they want from countries where supply is legal & companies who supply are willing to bend the law.

Prior to this I'm sure drugs were regularly transferred through the mail, & especially by courier, by slightly more up-market drugs dealers.
