I'm doing an exercise program. I'm a big person and am trying to shed weight. I'm going to try and do HIIT or something similar. Pretty much an intense program. Will heroin hurt this? ROA is snorting and not smoking. I also smoke weed, but already know the effects from that. I heard of people lifting while being high. I can't even imagine doing that. Will heroin hurt my progress?

I have never tried heroin but i take morphine on a daily basis for pain and i also shoot up dilaudid when i run out of my morphine script. i have gotten into pretty good shape when using opiates so it didn't seem to hurt me. It can lower testosterone in some people so that wouldn't be good for packing on muscle as it would make it alot harder. However i seem to be one of the lucky ones who don't get this side effect.

I would say quit the heroin if you can and take up working out. Working out can become a addiction in and of itself which is not a bad thing. There are a few shitty things about lifting weights on opiates. For one i can lift more then normal without feeling much pain. Until the next day that is so it's easier to injure yourself and you have to watch that. Also if your anything like me opiates increase your hunger especially for fatty and sugary foods and that is not good if you want to put on muscle and burn fat.

I'm on suboxone and working out twice a week. Daily opiate use is probably going to lower your test osterone levels. So consider lowering your intake at the least it will help you with putting on muscle. Or try to compensate stuff like creatine and zinc can help.

If you're trying to lose weight, then heroin will help. If you're trying to gain muscle then it's definitely going to hinder that.

I've gained weight on oxycodone, morphine and hydromorphone. So not everyone who takes opiates fit's the stereotype of the skinny junkie. Throw Cannabis into the mix and i get way hungrier then either drug alone would make me.

I'm trying to lose weight. It does help with that, in my experience. I kinda figured that gaining muscle would be difficult, but I'm trying to get a toned body instead of being buff. Thanks for the replies. Sounds like it's going to hinder progress, but not by enough to where I can't make changes in diet and vitamins to cover that lost progress.

Personally.. When I hurt my back about 5 years ago I put on 200 pounds in a year (went from 250 to 450 no lie).. I have now been on opiates for about 3 and 1/2 years and am back down under 300.. weighed in at 295 last week.. Not sure why.. but for me the Opiates seem to make me lose weight.. and I eat like shit and rarely exercise.

Funny how it takes only a year to put it on and almost 4 years to get it back off heh..

Opiates will definitely lower tesosterone, and nothing you can do will make up for that other than injecting more tesosterone, kind of unnecessary when you could just quit the opiates. Testosterone will help fat burn a lot also, not just muscle gain.
