Glad to hear things going well for you. :) Never know what'll happen sitting on those. Could end up paying for 20 of itself in the future! Has Litecoin taken off much? I remember reading about it a good while back and it seemed to be shadowed by Bitcoin and people ignored it, but it's starting to appear more now especially with recent bitcoin fluctuating.

Unfortunately as well I think should an opportunity like this ever arise again, i.e. being able to use computer power to make money essentially due to the media attention of bitcoin and success of those who got in early and harvested it will be much more difficult this time round to make as big a profit. I remember attempting to mine when bitcoin first came about but just left it as was using an old laptop. Didn't pursue it any further. Some people have most likely made some serious cash from it, provided they've managed to either convert the coin to something else or withdraw successfully. But I can't really see bitcoin going any further than a currency associated with illicit activities or those that require some form of anonymity (off-shore hosting/drugs/counterfeit goods/money laundering), although I'd like to be surprised. :)
 
Thanks guys.. just successfully bought some.. sent em to my wallet but it's saying i have no funds..

I've also noticed it says my wallet is out of sync and its doing some sort of syncing down the bottom.. Will the funds show when that complete?
 
the wallet has to sync up with the transaction list which involves downloading about 9gb of data and processing it, it takes a while - as in days.

Just wanted to congratulate you on your success. I've had similar sums of money arrive out of the blue (more somber circumstances, unfortunately) and it's just amazing to think that you can go wherever you want and do whatever you want (within reason) for a while.

Do I hear the Caribbean calling?

So bitcoin wallet isn't syncing anymore (don't know whether it finished or not.. had to go out last night) but it does still say out of sync.. but it's not doing it.. anyway to force it?

But it isn't syncing anymore.. It says: Action required: Visit http://bitcoins.org/may15help.html.. I go there and don't see anything helpful..

Starting to worry.. It wasn't a lot but definitely not anything I can just throw away and not care..

I've been over to blockchaininfo and says 1 transaction complete and i should now i have my bitcoins.. Why don't they show up in my wallet :@

Don't suppose anyone with some bitcoins want's to get something sent to my house (for real cash + a lil extra)?

Thankyou ! I sometimes think someone is watching out for me, the amount of near misses ive had being stupid with the drooga and now this. It really is the answer to my prayers, i can get a few essentials sorted, survive off it for a few months (depends how frugal im gonna be), and get some treats in.

Foreign hols will have to wait until im clean. That is one of my strongest motivations to quit though.
 
Yep, safe and sound in my bank account. So glad i didnt have to jump through all those ESA hoops and could happily ask them to drop my claim. To have them pay me £80 benefit, out of which id have send them £75 back per month for council tax :sus:.

Man hasnt the welfare state got so FUCKED UP.,,,ANYWAY A LITTLE GOOD NEWS FROM ME......

I didnt get half the rumoured 10 grand that was meant to avaialable at one point. But whatever i gt im extremely grateful for as it totally sorts me out financially, and gives me a few months breathing space to hopefully get somewhere with my counselling (if i give up these fuckin cigs). And time to get off the fuckin addictive droogas.

i bought them at £7 each about 18 months ago when benzoed up.Spent £250. When i sobered up the next day, and tried to take it the whole subectt, i thought fuck me, id stuggle to take all this in in the peak of mentall wellness, which i wasnt exactlt at that state them. I honestly virtualy fotgot about my bitoins. Exceot to occasionally think "another £250 down the drain, you fuckin idiot"

Next them i know PTCH is on about how they recently soared in value. Although i missed the peak tiime to sell due to not knowing what the fuck i was doing, plus most of of bitstamp were using delibaerate delaying tactics i reckon :sus: One decent guy there, got it sorted for me.

So yeah this old fool turned "£250 into atleast 14 times that without having a fucking clue what he was doing"

why is it momentous mate ?

Your story brings a smile to my face.

I have a few friends who work in finance, a much wider circle of friends who are at least part time investors and frankly, no one really seems to have made any money, so I like the idea of some random drugged up guy going "dudeeee, look at all this cash man."
 
Congrats MyDrugBuddy. I had something like 0.3btc sat in my wallet from when bitcoins were £8 or so. Its now paid for the majority of some acid for me which is nice, but not on the same level as yourself!
