He needs to pull his finger out and fix the house with a new boiler tbh.

Apparently there are a lot of very intense Smiths fans in Manchester. Weird night. 8)

And I wouldn't think it was weird it a mate wanted to use our shower - you should just ask.

This after my friends got married they were redoing their house, they used to come to my place for showers every day for like two weeks. It's not weird to ask your friends to use their shower.

'Man up' is just about the worst phrase in the English language. Why have a cold shower here when I can go to a mate's, have a warm shower and have some company either side of the shower (not literally)?

cos then what would you do if you'd get lost in the woods? stranded in a Wisbech council flat? forced to confront Hans Gruber there on the highest floor? self-suffiency, mate, self-suffiency in hygiene (from heroin to high power blotter acid).

just got home from a night of booze meph n dmt, feeling a bit fucked

Haven't had a stim-fueled porn sesh in a while actually, last one was with ethylphenidate though, quite rank. Been thinking of getting some pv at some point.

Fuckin' druggies.

Breakfast, then podgered 4-FA, street muck speed, tea, bourbon and spliff.

Geddit right, like...

Absolutely. It's usually bellowed repeatedly over the top of a logical explanation as to why something can't be done, by someone, and this is the crucial part, who doesn't have to do whatever it is they're recommending. It's a bludgeon for clubbing reason.

eg : look I'd love to MAN UP but the doctor said MAN UP no listen please, he MAN UP ok just listen for a MAN UP! it's the stitches, he's concerned JUST MAN UP they get wet, especially in muddy water MAN UP I mean muddy water literally MAN UP the bandages and into the wound MAN UP lose the whole limb MAAAAN UUUUUP FOR FUCK's SAKES.

Can't you at least induce your landlord to put in a cheap electric shower? £250 should cover unit and installation, about 1/10 of a new boiler fitted.

Precisely why I hate that phrase. It's an irrational counter to legitimate reasons for not doing something, and for some reason it tends to hold more weight than the legitimate argument it's countering. Mental.

We might ask the landlord to do that. We have to speak through estate agents though, which is part of the problem as a) it's a saturday and b) they're lazy cunts.
