Mixing alcohol and benzo's.

Alright, I went to the doctor today expecting to another prescription since I'm out of my Temazepam. I'm in a different province so I had to go to a walk in clinic. I was given a script, but only one fifth of what I'm usually prescribed. I was planning on enjoying a nice benzo high tonight, but I clearly can't unless I want to use almost all my script.

I have a beer in the fridge, and I know that benzos and alcohol both act upon the GABA receptors and they intensify each other, but I've always read about how dangerous it is to mix the two.

Would it be dangerous to mix half of my usual dose of Temazepam with one beer?
If not, would it really intensify the Temazepam?

Any information would be appreciated.
 
bezos and alcohol can be an extremely dangerous combination. however not always, I'd need to know what dose u plan on eating to give u a difinitive answer but just one beer should be fine. I'll put it this way, I have taken 3 mgs of Xanax and drank 4 beers and I'm still alive and well. the high will be much more of a drunk than a benzo feeling though. still I'd say go for it
 
Depends on how much of each you plan on taking, and of course your tolerance to both these.
 
i think i can handle xanax and booze, and not get to sloppy, maybe i'll do some dumb reckless shit but nothing extreme

booze and ativan ~ i turn into a complete mess, one christmas i dumped a ton of them, guzzled a shit load of booze ,so im told at the dinner table im trying to pour wine with the cork still in it, my sloppy behavior was really pissing off my mom, after dinner i was sitting next to my aunt, the bean dip caught up with me, my aunt was trying to tell a story, and i kept farting on her,
then i got the bright idea to check out moms medicine cabinet
went to grab the bottle of 5 year old vicodan , and knocked all the pill bottles out of the cabinet and fell on my ass , my brother got me into my old room and i passed out,
later on i still had more ativan left, i was chilling getting drunk and eating them
i did stupid shit like poor beer on my head , and got all hyped up

booze and k pins, my timings all off, one night i had a mop in my back pocket that exploded with all this silver ink, the barmaids like why is your hand silver, ? uh im an artist, wait wait ,why does the whole place got silver paint all over it,

uh im sorry and i got the fuck out of dodge
 
it all depend on the dosage of each.
alcohol + benzo does not equal death or OD.
But, Large dose of benzo plus alcohol could leave you like you had taken just a bit too much benzo; or same vice versa getting completely plastered and then taking a benzo could have the same effect.

But having one beer and doing a normal or less then normal benzo dose shouldn't harm you.
 
Not worth the risk everyone is different on this topic

Just because you've got away consequence free in the past doesn't mean it's safe. Bad things can and may eventually happen. I'm going to close this as it was a bump of a very old thread. If anyone has issues they would like to further discuss I invite you to start a new thread.
