Heroin for autistic girl and others with similar problems

This is a fascinating video about a girl with autism that feels trapped in her own body. They thought she was mentally retarded until she turned 11 and had a breakthrough moment where she was able to type to communicate and displayed remarkable intelligence without much help.

Now this is my input.

She says her body feels like it's on fire and her brain is overly active and she can't even stay still or be calm because of her autism. Seeing as how i think heroin is the cure-all for everything, i was thinking: If you give her heroin, i guarantee she would calm the fuck down and there would be no more pain in her body. She wouldn't have mental overload because she would be feeling euphoric and happy and calm and there would be no more burning sensation all throughout her body anymore. She has proven that she is very smart. So instead of taking all those medicines they probably have her on and god knows what else, she could just take heroin daily in an oral tablet or something and be freakin' FINE!

I'm no doctor obviously, and it's just a silly high-thought. But in all seriousness, i don't think my idea is too far-fetched. Heroin = no more physical pain, no more mental pain, no more depression, and just pure happiness.

I think the stigma around the drug does more harm than good. I also think heroin would help schizophrenic people. My friend has schizophrenia and a plethora of other disorders. Has an over-active mind, thinks everyone is out to get him, can't sleep, etc. Instead of all these pills and other shit he takes, i honestly think heroin would be the cure for his negative thinking, paranoid thought, over-active mind, and sleeplessness. It would take away his crushing depression and social anxiety and everything else.

I think heroin is a blessing from god. If it is abused, then it is the devil. But in a medical setting, i think it is a miracle drug.

What do you think?
 
i don't literally mean everything, but i think a lot of physical and psychological pain could be quelled with diacetylmorphine treatment

The problem is, there's a lot more to things like autism and schizophrenia than physical or psychological pain. I wouldn't say that heroin can't make someone happy and painless short-term, but to solve all their problems for good? Not a chance. And just for the record, personally I have found that opiates actually make me more depressed even though you could say that I have an overactive mind too. I actually find it insulting that someone might think it's a problem to have "too much brain activity" because I believe the problem is this activity is happening in the wrong place at the wrong time for wrong reasons; it shouldn't be just generally dumbed down and suppressed, instead I believe it should be rerouted in a way that it's no longer perceived as a problem.

What makes you think heroin specifically would be suitable for this girl's problems as opposed to any other opiate/opioid? This is obviously a pretty radical concept which I can dig, but it doesn't seem like you really put any thought into this besides seeing someone with a problem and presuming that your drug of choice could help them.

i'd think a better cure would be amphetamines mixed with benzos and opiates for breakthrough attacks... ah my dream. But really maybe something like lyrica would help with the burning sensation at least, i don't know.

but really opiates suck, ever experience opiate irritability? that's probably the biggest thing that keeps me away from them now, i just get so fucking itchy and pissed off it's not even worth it.
 
Idiotic. Masking a deep rooted neurological issue with heroin? That is no cure. Once the drugs wear off the problem is still there and overtime she will need more and more as her tolerance increases.
 
What about Rick Simpson Oil?
I think it would work great for autism.

I have no experience with autism, but I think hemp oil would be very effective in treating this condition. I know people who have given their children hemp oil for ADHD with great success. i'd personally rather treat ADHD with an amphetamine than fucking hemp oil. That's just as messed up. Either way, there's no distinction between natural/synthetic, so your argument falls flat on its face. Autism is much different than ADD/ADHD too, not even close to one another.

I do think opioids, particularly those which produce high levels of euphoria, should be investigated in the treatment of certain forms of treatment resistant depression. I don't really see the psychiatric use of opioids/opiates being particularly broad, but I believe it can be very useful in the treatment of certain psychological conditions.

How do you think amphetamines are going to work? you can't just put someone and especially not a kid on amphetamines for a long period on time without
some serious neurological and psychological damage.
RSO is different then regular hemp oil. Some people call it the universal cure.
It's used for all types of cancers, scars, migraines, believe it or not - weight loss and some psychological problems.
Nobody is 100% sure that is going to work, but I don't see why this is messed up. It's worth a try.

well that's up for debate still; therapeutic doses may not cause any damage. Still i don't believe there is a panacea or cure all, unless you have some peer reviewed studies to back it up. I don't advocate stimulant use for autisum (was being facetious) but it's just as much of a shot in the dark as hemp seed oil; we can't just experiment on people and see what works/doesn't work; shit must be studied intensely first. Well we can and do but we shouldn't, especially on people with special needs.
 
Although in this particular case (autism) I doubt heroin would do anything, morphine was (more or less) the first generally recognised anti-depressant...which is why it was prescribed (well, indicated for- this was pre-prescription) for depression, mania, hysteria etc.

It was only when the negative side effects (read: horrible addiction) became apparent that the quest to develop a drug that was as effective an anti-depressant as morphine, but without the addiction liability. In addition, once addiction is fully entrenched opiates can begin to cause depression rather than alleviate it.

Morphine was the ORIGINAL anti-depressant.

This is quite possibly the stupidest thread on bluelight at the moment, like jesus christ.Sometimes i have trouble sleeping maybe i should take heroin?
