Why do more people prefer oxycodone over morphine

I used to get some euphoria off of smaller doses of percocets, but now it is not the same even with no tolerance or previous addictions. I remember a 30mg of morphine would relieve pain and get me a warm buzz with some euphoria. I would imagine with 60mg of morphine that it would have me pretty messed up, warm, painless, and euphoric, just something oxycodone can do once in awhile.

So what are some reasons people prefer oxycodone over morphine? And in terms of pain killing aspects which is more effective?

For most people the preference is oxycodone due to the fact that morphine in any route other than IV has an extremely poor bioavailability, especially in relation to oxycodone. This means diminished potency and analgesia compared to oxycodone in non-IV routes.

just because morphine has terrible oral/nasal BA doesn't mean much, you can just treat it as being far less potent than oxycodone. At equipotent doses orally, i'd take morphine over oxycodone. Really i think it's more preference for either having more energy or feeling more relaxed. And for some reason the thought that so much morphine is wasted orally plays some factor.

Bioavailability, affinity, and biopotency have a very close relationship.

In either case, it's a highly subjective question. Each person will have their preference. I personally despise oral morphine. I think it has a dirty feel to it which I don't enjoy. Oxycodone on the other hand is smooth and crisp.

Would 30 milligrams of morphine do me as well as 20 milligrams of oxycodone, absolutely not.

This to, but tolerance builds so damn quickly its annoying. I think oxy is the worst opioid for how fast tolerance builds.

Oral Morphine is weaker due to it's low Bio-Avalability but in IV form gives me generally a dreamy kinda high while insufflated Oxycodone gave me more hard nodding times. I have had liquid Morphine for a while and that stuff (OraMorph 10ml/10mg) was a pretty additive with Oxycodone or Diazepam mixed in.

Another big factor for me at least is price. Morphine is about half the price per mg compared to oxy, at least for me. There seems to be more people that wants to buy oxy than morphine.

Can't speak for everyone but I prefer two Roxi 30's over two Morphine if I'm snorting or swallowing. But I'd take Morphine 60mgs over roxi 60mgs if I'm shooting any day. Absolutely love the IV morphine rush, AMAZING!

I prefer morphine over oxycodone for a couple reasons. It relieves my pain a lot better than oxy does at equianalgesic doses, morphine doesn't make me itch like oxy does, and morphine doesn't make me irritable like oxy does.

^^ Same, oxcycodone gives me grumpies/opiate rage. Also, IV'ing, morphine provides somewhat of a rush, whereas oxy does not. I'd take an equipotent dose of oxy over morphine, orally, if I had some diazepam to go along with it, it smooths out the oxy feeling for me.

i IV oxycodone and it gives me a better rush and high than morphine does eg 30mg oxy IV is better to me than 60mg morphine IV

^yes, as I remember I got this too when I injected oxy several years ago. However it wasn't great compared to the heroin I was used to so I never bought another oxy after that.

there is somewhat a rush from injecting oxycodone, but it is more like instant-high rather than a bellringer or heroin rush. with heroin, i feel a rush of ecstasy run from the top of my head down my spine and onto my feet.
