These 60mg Oxycontins really suck! If I soak a couple of them in water for 13 to 14 hours, where will the bulk of my oxycodone be ; in the water or still in the blob of gunk that was once a pill ? What do I do then ? Somebody help me out

Can you not just pick off the coating or is it the more awkward type?

Wipe off the coating, crush the pill as fine as possible then add cold water, mix, then put in the freezer for 5mins or so, until its nearly frozen, then take it out and let sit until the frozen oxy turns back to oxy in very cold water, micron filter it and then shoot. Basically the same as a CWE.

If you read my original post you'll see I did say to micron filter the solution. Also I have never tried it with the new formula oxycontin I've heard about in the US, here in the UK we still get the old type of oxycontin, with OC on one side and the size pill on the other.

It only works for opiate containing pills that have no extra measures taken to stop people injecting them, like the extended release morphine here in the UK have a wax matrix to stop people injecting them, so it wouldn't work for them. Any other opiate pill though and it will work, as it works on the same principle that extracting codeine from co-codamol does, which is opiates are very soluble in cold water and the other ingredients aren't so it's simply filtering the solution to separate the two.

I am begging you to take my word on this, just take it orally. BA is often above 90% and you'll have the best time, and ZERO frustration over trying to inject a pill that is not injectable right now. I know as addict's we are all fighters and think with brute force we can just smash these up, they're made out of plastic. Trying to inject that, is injecting plastic. Think about that before you try to inject a drug that is better taken orally.

I bet your liver would metabolize a lot more oxycodone into oxymorphone if you took it orally w/ the time release.

I heard that they're bringing the old OC style oxycontins back in about a week or two....

edit: even if they're old pills, you should especially not be injecting them. Just crush half and take that orally and take the other half orally in the time released form, that was my favorite way of taking them... FWIW

Not old pills as in out of date, old as in the old style ones. They never changed here in the UK as I get mine from someone who has a script for them. I don't know how the American style OP oxys differ, but I think it very unlikely they would put plastic in something you consume, as eating plastic is not healthy. Where did you get that information from? And why would they bring back the old style ones where you are? Surely if the new ones are to stop people injecting them they're not gonna bring the old injectable ones back? Also you get 100% BA taken IV compared to 90% oral as far as I know.

Their bringing back the old ones because purdue's patent on extended release oxycodone "oxycontin" just expired. Other drug companies can now make oxycontin. Oxy is one of those pills that already has a high oral BA, so shooting it only will give you 10% more. Not only that but the high wont last as long. So just eat them!

Purdue didnt really want to change the formula there was just so much pressure on them they had too.

Im sure Mallinckrodt was happy though

the OP's time release is a polymer (plastic) matrix. you're not eating it as it goes through your digestive system. i don't think there are any studies on whether there are health problems as a result of them...yet.

yeah i doubt its plastic as well....but they sure as hell seem like theyre plastic ....even a scizors knife or pill cutter will barely split the pill and it wont crush into powduh

If you have needle fixation just eating them isn't an option, as even if you are getting nearly the same dose it'll feel like a lot less as you don't get the rush. Obviously people who have never injected anything before can just eat or snort them, there's no need to get a needle habit just for a little more BA. I've never really enjoyed oxy orally, it comes on too slow and doesn't seem as strong. If I wasn't going to shoot them, I'd definitely snort them, I know you'll point out it has a lower BA, and not all the drug is absorbed etc, but all I care about is getting the drug in my system as quickly as possible when I get them, as I'm usually in withdrawals whenever I pick up. Also I understand now that Purdue were pressured into changing the formula, but if they were pressured so much before why aren't they under the same pressure to keep with this new formula when they re-new the patent? And is there any truth to what was said about plastic being in the new formula? That can't be true, as plastic isn't safe to consume.

I got the information from the package insert, from the manufacturer. It's plastic polymer. Canada refused to adopt the OP's as-is so they made OxyNeo which is a BHT-free version but I'm pretty damn sure they're still plastic like the OPs...

And yeah, we should be seeing the old OC style OxyContin generics in about 10-14 days!

Yes, please don't tell me you think it would'nt? What would it break down to in the body or how would it be digested? Eating a plastic polymer is completely different to eating actual plastic, otherwise it would never be put in there. And if you try reading the post of mine that you quoted, it said I have no idea how the American OP oxycontin differed from the proper oxycontin here in the UK, as I can gladly say I've never seen and will probably never see an OP oxycontin.

I think it's totally unacceptable... To the point where I can't take OxyContin anymore, which is a shame because it worked so well for me for so many years.

They are made with extremely dense plastic polymers and many patients can see the pills come out whole in their feces.

This phenomenon has also been reported with the Opana ER reformulated/anti-abuse tablets.
