Except the overwhelming public sympathy and miles of flower rosettes will not be there. Aside from political beliefs it isnt sad when someone dies at 87. They've had a fuckin good innings, a fair bit longer than the average life expentancy for a woman of her generation.
 
Far from evil, far from perfect. What she did achieve will never be recognised by people who, for example, are drinking to her death. Shoddy IMO.

I come from a working class community destroyed by her. I see no achievements. I see a community that no longer exists, where selfishness and locked doors have replaced neighbourliness. I see my hard working parents ground into an early grave.

I see no fucking achievements.

The Belgrano?

At no point in history were the Falklands ever Argentinian, when British settlers first arrived there Argentina as a nation-state did not yet exist. They are British, as recognized by international law and the UN. Argentina was under a fascist military dictatorship at the time and the generals of the junta wanted to distract the people from the domestic woes and tried to rally the country behind the flag, hence the aggression.

I think the war was a just, legitimate and proportionate response to Argentinian aggression, they have no legitimate claim over the islands. Matter of fact Argentina itself is the result of European colonialism and the oppression of the natives. It's hypocritical at the highest level for Argentinians to say Britain should leave the Falklands, as going by that logic they should move back to Spain or Italy, as they don't belong on that continent any more than the British do.

I don't usually support war, but of all military interventions that had a sound legal backing.
