'yet'
wait till you start hallucinating due to the fact you can't sleep because your body is a block of ice
Careful playing around with other opiates like suboxone. I have a friend who had a few years of casual heroin use, with slight withdrawals. He brought suboxone into the equation, now he is a complete opiate addict and has been in a 'hole' for many years. It didn't work for him (His heroin use would have more than likely led to addiction - if it havent already - anyway)
I am not preaching, more warning you and telling you it from my point of view, which is the only thing I can do, in hope to help you:
Personally I found it easy to break through when using suboxone even on 12mgs; each to their own.
You know it builds in your system? I found suboxone withdrawls to be hellish even when down to.5mg after starting on 18mgs and being on it close to a year after 5 years of heroin use (what a waste of time!).
In my view you have 2 options.
1.
Harm reduction (this is the path the professionals will probably take - which doesn't necessary mean it to be correct): Get on a real suboxone script and start taking 12-16mgs (or a high dose or what the professionals suggest). This will hopefully kill the boredom and you wont use Heroin (a suboxone high can be speedier than heroin and as you know the doses / strength it puts you back in control and you can be more effective as a human being - even though the true opiate addict is not getting 'high' on opiates any more, I find there is an element or part of that person, that still kind of does). Also it might be an incentive not to use as it might block the heroin, so what's the point in using? Down side you will have to one day come off suboxone - but at least you're not using Heroin
(I'm guessing you probably think the idea of 'not using heroin', to be even a 'good' option, I feel / fear you are not ready to stop your heroin use yet. You are still probably at the stage where you are entertaining fantasies of control and the possibility of a life with heroin use. 'I'll only use it on the weekends', 'one bag wont hurt', 'this time it is different' etc. Hopefully it will not take you many years to realize this is not a viable option or something you can control. You do know what once you cross the line and become 'addicted' you can't go back to casual use, it really is black and white)
2.
Opiate free: If i were you I would bring your usage down to .5
then wait a day and take .5 again then wait another day opiate free and do another .5 (or less) then wait 2 days opiate free then 3 days then 4 etc. That way you will have less discomfort
(I'm not sure I should tell you this, if you don't already know, but snorting suboxone makes it 'stronger' / more effective. This can be used to your advantage. When you are down to low dosages like .5 its hard to go lower as the pills are too small to break up. However, you could snort a
tiny, tiny amount, thus bringing your dosage down even lower and making the withdrawls even less.)
Sounds like boredom, is one of your triggers, that and probably having money in your pocket (I'm guessing), among others. Learn your triggers, write them down, it can help, be truthful with yourself
Get out while you can. Relocate and get help or radically change your life, for example: go volunteer in another country at something you will find challenging and enjoyable, use your imagination (becoming another zombie heroin addict is so unimaginative, predictable and boring) - at least delete your dealer's phone number.
Good luck
