I Took Suboxone, How Long Do I Wait?

I do not take suboxone regularly, I took 4mg this morning but thats it for suboxone for a long time. Will I still have to wait a long time?

Wait for what? The Naloxone in them to wear off so gear can take effect, or something else? If so, I believe Naloxone has an 8 hour half life, but the bupe much longer. Careful if you plan on booting with bupe in your system, although hard to od with it alone, with gear it is as easy as always.

^No, the naloxone doesn't do shit. Oral, sublingual, IV, intranasal, whatever. You can completely block its effects by sublingually taking a small amount & then waiting about 30 min then injecting.

Bupe and naloxone are used together because naloxone blocks opiates from entering the MU opiate receptors and pushes out what may already be attached to the receptors. But bupe is an opiate that will beat the barrier and push through into the receptors and stay in contact regardless, due to the pharmacological make up permitting so and the sole reason chemists think it the miricle cure for opiate addiction (although in my opinion it is NOT a cure as most fail to eventually abstain completely anyway). When on Subutex, which is just bupe you can still take and feel effects from opiates due to it's lack of naloxone. They give people suboxone if they keep taking gear when already on a subutex maintenance program, to stop opiates doing anything but causing precipitated withdrawal if you do use before the naloxones half life has expired...

This is the information passed to me by a doctor who prescribes these and who's entire career revolves around subutex, suboxone, methadone and general help to those with an opiate addiction.

^the dude above me has no clue what he is talking about. i have injected a suboxone film (dissolved in sterile water of course); and i have snorted and SL both suboxone pills/films and snorted bupre pills (subutex). In my experience, the naloxone is basically unactive; you dont have to worry about it because the bupre has higher affinity and it only haves a 4hr half life so it will be out of your system before all the bupre(suboxone) leaves your system. the BUPRENORPHINE is what BLOCKS all your receptors at doses of 2mg< (and above); a dose of 4mg, if the person is not on MT, saturates and blocks your receptors for 24-37+hrs (the half-life of bupre). after 24+ hours, you will only
i suggest waiting atleast 24+hrs before trying to abuse other opiates.

^This.
When someone ODs & is given naloxone in hospital, they can still go back to being passed the fuck out once the initial dose wears off. By saying the naloxone attaches to the mu receptors regardless of any opiates already there & that the bupe has an even higher affinity, causing it to replace the naloxone, it's rendered useless by the bupe.

Yes, just hear to add another conformation that the naloxone in Suboxone doesn't do ANYTHING.

Seriously.

Also note, doses of buprenorphine<2mg has the active metabolite norbuprenorphine active at your receptors. Norbuprenorphine is a FULL agonist, unlike buprenorphine, so it is more desirable. As in more euphoria, better opiate feeling, etc.

For someone with no tolerance, 4mg is a stupid dose.

+1 to hatrix and boblaw

if you OD on bupre, they will give you a SUPER high dose naltrexone injection and keep you on a SUPER HIGH DOSE naltrexone IV-drip for 36-48 hrs to make sure you dont slip back into withdrawal!

usually a shot of naloxone or naltrexone will do the trick, but bupre just has such high affinity and such a long half-life that they have to keep you on an antagonist around the clock to make sure you dont stop breathing and die!
