Greetings & Salutations, 43 years old. I've done it all,(just about). With the exclusion of exotic, designer drugs, I've tried just about everything. Ended up strung-out on raw dope, ready-rock, methadone, and nicotine. I've been on a methadone program since 98'. Got clean for a half a minute in 2000, but drank myself back to heroin and cocaine. Been following my meth program rules(clean urines, no cheating) for about 3 years now. I got down to @10-20mg/day on a "blind detox", and have just switched to 8mg suboxone-2X/day. I feel great, except my back pain has returned. Suboxone is evidently not an affective analgesic as methadone. Anyway I would love to discuss my experiences w/others in the hope of helping someone, if I can. I'm also currently attending college to become a certified addiction's counselor. -Peace & gratitude abound.

Welcome aboard! :) I definitely think you should check out The Dark Side. I think you could help out a lot of people in there. I hope to read more from you soon. <3

Thanks for the welcome guys. I'm obviously as green as green can be. I'd appreciate ANY/ALL assistance, suggestions, constructive criticism, etc. I think that I could prove to be an asset, with the right guidance. I'm probably a few years older than the average BL'r. I've been a part of the drug culture my entire life; child of hippies, & second generation opiate addict. I've been experimenting with mind alteration, ALL of my life. I'm also a self taught guitarist, song-writer, & bad back up singer (hence the AIC ref in my intro, Mr S). I've been playing in bands since age 16, way back in the "excessive'80's".haha. I hope to be a positive part of this community. -Peace & humility.

Cool man. I'm a musician too. Drums, guitar, singing, piano. But have been focusing mainly on acoustic guitar and singing recently, playing some shows around the city. I have a nice little home recording studio in my apartment too.

I had a feeling you were a player. You recognized the "Junkhead" lyrical ref. I love Layne(RIP) & feel an obvious kinship, as I imagine you do also.?.? ...would love to "spew" about music & drugs. I wrote my 1st paper, in college, on just that. You said NYC, (Manhattan, or Burroughs?) I imagine there's no shortage of gigs.?.? Are you playing original music or covers? Recording?

Yeah I'm a huge Layne Fan. I live in Manhattan but play gigs in BK too sometimes. I play all originals.. with some covers thrown in there but they are all my interpretations and often times sound nothing like the originals, hah.

I've done some recording in the past and am currently working on some new material now that I'm hoping to get released if it comes out the way I want it to.

It's good to see you are taking your music to the next level (as far as recording and releasing). I was initialy sucked into the opiate/creativity myth. My first "real" high was a two and a half day marathon of song writing and nodding. For a long time a believed dope to be my muse. Not so. That was @ '96, and much has changed since then. Any way, thanks for the welcome, and good luck with your tunes.
