I didn't say it had methamphetamine in it, I said it is partly metabolized by the body into L-methamphetamine. If you are so big on research simply look up selegeline on Wikipedia and you can also look up L-methamphetamine (which doesn't have recreational effects, which was my point).

I agree that you should not be self medicating, especially with drugs designed for thyroid problems. Every female in my family has severe thyroid problems and the medication they take has a disastrous effect if not used under strict medical guidelines.

I will go as far as saying that without medical guidance, there is nothing you can self medicate with that you will find as beneficial to your energy levels as you found meth.
 
For the love of Sagan will you just fork the cash out for a quick blood test at the mediclinc? Then you might actually know what you need to do. Hell for all we know you have sleep apnea, anemia, or depression and need a good look over.

Sorry for going off on you guys yesterday and for the racial slurs haha I gotta ease up on the roids lmaooo just kidding! I have a temper and I tend to lash out at people sometimes so I apologize. swimmingdancer I apologize for questioning you. Now about Selegeline.. that sucks that it is metabolized into Meth without the high. What if you mix Selegeline with Hordenine or Tyrosine or some kind of fat burner/energy stimulant? I was planning on taking a supplement for adrenal fatigue called Reset AD mixed with 5-10mgs of Selegeline and some Tyrosine would that benefit me?
 
idk if anyone already said this becauase i didnt read anyone elses' posts, but bupropion works really wel for amphetamine cravings. wellbutrin is even chemically (structurally) similar to amphetamine (benzene bonded to an amine group, hence the name amphetAMINE), and i find the effects to be quite similar. definitely doesnt pack a bell-ringer like meth, but wellbutrin will cut your cravings for speed, and brighten your mood up a bit :)

^ yah it is either a hit or miss. i find it not to be bad, works when i sold all my vyvanse and dont have any amps though ;)

it is worth a shot, and actually WORKS unlike prozc, zoloft, paxil, SSRI, ect...
 
Selegiline has a shit load of side effects, and very shaky evidence. Its best avoided unless you have Parkinsons. I knew a guy back in first year who had a seizure combining it with 5mg D-Amp sulfate and a lip full of chew too.

Don't you think it's because he was combining it with Dextro Amphetamine? Granted 5mgs is nothing I could probably take 60mgs of Adderall mixed with 10mgs of Selegeline.. I gurantee you nothing would happen to me. Would it upset my heart? Sure.. would I die? Not me! And I'm only saying that because I've mixed Selegeline with Adderall.. it was okay.. but what's the point if one is trying to stay off of drugs you know? Selegeline is supposed to help get your dopamine levels back in check and the only thing I am looking to mix Selegeline with is this supplement called Reset AD that is going to help restart my adrenal glands. Pantothenic Acid (as calcium pantothenate) 450mg
Bovine Adrenal Glandular Extract Powder 150mg
Rhodiola Root Extract 100mg
Schisandra Berry Powder 100mg
Licorice Root Powder 50mg
Pregnenolone 25mg

^^Those are the ingredients.. so 5mgs of Selegeline plus the Adrenal Reset and some Tyrosine.. maybe some Theanine too we'll see. I'm pretty sure that will help get me back to normal. Any opinions on that?
 
Even if Selegiline partially metabolizes into marshmallow fluff it's not really that good of an indicator of what the fuck it's actually gonna do to you! Are there people out there saying, "Wow this selgiline is just like crystal meth, but all it does is speed up my heart rate and tweak me out with NO HIGH!"...ha

I had a doctor once try to prescribe me selegiline, clonidine and neurontin to come off crystal and heroin....Supposedly, regardless of all the neuro-chemical shit, selegiline can help with cravings and sluggishness and depression for people trying to get off certain hard drugs....

although, it's an MAOI so there's all sorts of foods and drugs that you can't consume while you're on it, thats why I refused to try it....

If somebody wants to post a book about what you can't eat on MAOIs, I'm sure it would be helpful....
 
Anything containing tyrosine is one of the exact things you're supposed to avoid while taking selegiline....It's funny you should mention combining the two!

I have no idea, sorry. I really still think you should find some way to see a health care professional. Why not start with the Adrenal Reset by itself first?

In normal clinical doses selegiline is a selective irreversible MAO-B inhibitor, while in high doses it loses its specificity and also inhibits MAO-A. Special dietary restrictions for standard doses of selegiline (for example the 6mg/day transdermal patch) have been found to be unnecessary in clinical trials and I am not aware of any adverse food interactions being reported with it even in the higher standard doses. I would still be cautious if not using it under a doctor's guidance though.

It is an antagonist at the same receptor that nicotine agonizes; so people who are cigarette smokers (who have no intention of quitting using nicotine) should not use wellbutrin/bupropion. Doing so can cause adverse effects.

Although I really do recommend quitting smoking cigarettes/nicotine at any cost, using bupropion concurrently is going to be a bad idea and can cause a bunch of problems (feeling really bad/suicidal, according to the people who have tried this and told me about it).

I hope people can be aware that this is a potential reaction, as I'm sure no one would willingly put themselves into such an uncomfortable state.
