Terms of Endearment

I've heard a lot of girls don't like being called "babe" or "baby". I'm not sure why. I don't mind it. My boyfriend calls me "sweetie" or "baby" or the other name he calls me (it is nice but personal so I'm not sharing it :p).

Aussie it's real hard to make me feel bad about this as I have to ability to come up with 'pet' names, be it affectionate or degrading.
If you lack the capacity to adore someone with words-
I mean universal pet names are on the bottom of the list as far as things go;
a list of pet names will not give you an endearing demeanour.

That being said, your new pet name is poo pixels, because all the keys you hit turns to shit on my screen <3

Bumbum,
honey buns,
bunny rabbit,
honey bunny,
bunny bear,
pumpkin pie,
poopiehead,
stinky butt,
cutie pie,
pumpkin pie,
cuddlebear,
little pumpkin,
snuggle bear

Those are things I call my boyfriend. Lol. I usually just make it up on the fly. Whatever sounds good.

or if I'm angry or being annoying I'll say it slow like.. ba-by...BU-ny...RABBIT!!

Oh man so many, and many of them jokes

Muffin
Bean
Beaniebot
Pookie
Sweetie
Scrappers
Scrapdangles
Bootiful
Beautius
Muffin cakes
Pookus
Little [Insert nickname here, like Pringle]

She often calls me tooble, toople, toopus, poopy, sillyboyboy, scoopus

The list could go on forever.

Like Pretty Diamonds we both usually make them up on the fly. Which is how Scrapdangles and the like finds its way on a list. Man actually writing it out makes me feel like a nut case.

Really, any combination of saccharine foods (fruits, desserts) and cute animals shall do it! :)

Hahah this just made me remember something. When my LT ex and I had just gotten together he used to call me stuff like 'my chocolate bear' or 'my caramel bunny' etc. As a joke obviously, and in the end he ran out of ideas so it turned into things like 'my dulce de leche filled frog' or whatever. It wasn't particularly cute or endearing but it was hilarious.

I agree with whoever said the thing about having a name that other people wouldn't recognize.

I should also note that each type of relationship has a different set of suitable names- my sister I call dude, the kids that I work with usually get 'bubbie' or 'girly girl,' significant others get the longer, more intimate ones- 'honeybutter,' etc.

while I admit to not being a huge babe/baby fan, there are a few female friends that I'll exchange the term with. One of my female friends's mom has called me 'babe' since fifth grade. Another friend I'll use 'mami' with, it just depends on who I'm talking to/ what the context is.

My late fiance called me Frodo because he said he loved my big (size 7), hairy (not) hobbit feet. Either that or "woman," cave-man style. I miss it. :(

How has no one mentioned what I call a girl whom I love? Angel.
Babe
Baby
Cutie
Darling
Sexy
beautiful
Sweetheart
Lover
Ms lady (I spent a lot of time in the Hood back in the day)
And my special term: angel. For those I really care about.

Awesome! keep 'em coming, if there's any more? I'm filling up my memory bank with these ideas.

Aww i know how that feels, sorry to hear that <3. My late gf from my teens always used to say "hey handsome", i still remember her saying it and pecking me on the cheek in high school.
My usual pet name for her is Gallium.
Do you ever refer to her as Gallium Arsenide? :D

Sometimes, I'll pick random geek things and be like " I love you, my cute little differentiable manifold"

Only works if you have a geek for an S/O.
"cute little differential manifold" lmao.

Depending on who i get together with next i might try:
For a physical scientist, "you're as rare as Copernicium", although she might think i'm calling her a dude.
For a mathematician, i might try "you are my golden ratio".
For an arts student I might try out "You're my first first edition, my ABC, my 123, you are the first thing i think of in the morning"
Or perhaps some time I might use "this argument is going on like Pi, you irrational number!", see if it gets a smile from a clever girl.
