Long term unusual feeling / sound in head after long term drug abuse

Hey,

This is VERY difficult to describe...I can only think of 2 things and I have been trying to think of how to comprehend and describe this for years now.

I abused MDMA at a very bad rate for years, also some speed, coke and some others that I don't even know to be honest, I was younger and was happy to party.

For years I keep getting a very weird sensation that seems to be at the back of my brain, the only 2 ways I can describe it is a sound of when you just pour a glass of very fizzy coke and the sound from the fizzle, the only other way I can think of is the sound that would come from an electric cable.

Believe me, I know how bad this description is but I can't compare it to anything else.

It is very random, it can happen at any time at all and I can actually feel it as well as "hear" it inside my head.

I have no idea what this is and the doctors here are bad enough at trying to know if a leg is broke, nevermind anything to do with the brain ( NHS and I can't afford private )

I wanted to know if anyone else has experienced anything like this?

This is nothing like the "zaps" from low serotonin, I have had that a lot and know what it is like.

I haven't taken any drugs in maybe 2 years now...

Hope someone can help and sorry for such a bad explanation of how it feels

I'm not sure exactly how this correlates, or even if its the same feeling/sound but right before my salvia or Dmt kicks in I hear and feel something that sounds a lot like what you mentioned. Even through meditation I've felt it. Does it come and go, is it often, and have you tried to mentally block it out or stop it?

i read somewhere that pills like percocets and vicodin can affect hearing and cause tinitus. cant remember if its the actual narcotic or the APAP.

Have you used any pyschs or trypts that have auditory hallucinations like DiPT, ive heard of people getting hppd that effects hearing and causes sound distortion

I've had the same problem since 5 years after my heavy 4-MMC / MDMA / Meth(amphetamine) binges back then. I believe it's due to the MDMA or 4-MMC. It will never dissappear. I thought I was the only one with this problem. I know exactly the sound you describe. Live with it, it will not dissappear, at least it has not for me.

Are you sure it's not amphetamine induced tinnitus?

That was my first guess... But maybe I'm just biased because amphetamines have done a personal number on me.

OP, can you give us more perspective on the issue? When did it start in the first place? Was it following a certain drug experience? Are there any emotions accompanied by it? Changes in perception? Are there days where it is worse than others? Does sleep have a impact?

These questions, and others like them, will help us understand if it is a phsysiological or psychological phenomenon.
