Ah right. That fella. Know the name and that he got his missus to lie for him about a driving offence but wouldn't recognise a pic of him. As demonstrated. Am not that great on recognising politicians really. Nor of knowing who Justin Bieber was until recently as mentioned above. In fact I rarely have a clue who people are that many here and elsewhere often wish death and/or disaster on really. One of the benefits of not reading newspapers or watchng much telly :D
 
Did his wife not grass herself in by thinking she was getting one over on him by grassing him for the same offence? If I've not just made that up then it's fucking hilarious.

Damn rock climbing partner didn't show up this afternoon, turns out her pushbike got nicked, so we're going to try again tomorrow. Wasn't a complete waste of time, did some "bouldering" which you can do on your own. Ended up falling, of course, but onto a big fat bouncy mattress thingy. Even then I hurt my ankles! Not too badly though. Then I spent £150 on climbing gear.

Art exhibition was very specific to this Kronk nightclub that no longer exists, think it was a soul place during the Northern Soul era, didn't mean much to me as I wasn't around then but it was interesting and I got some free wine so I cannot complain!

I quite admire the skill invovled in achieving a photorealistic effect but frankly don't see the point it such stuff for the most part. May as well just take a photo. Depends on the subject though, I suippose, but art is meant to say something more than just "I can draw better than you".
 
Yeah agreed, I just don't understand when a red triangle represents the ongoing struggle of the working man or whatever.

I do like looking at a portrait of an old persons face with all the ridges and detail. Can't for the life of me work out how it's done.

I quite like Derren Brown's portraits.
 
I also like Derren Brown's artwork. He's a talented chap :)

I think I know who it is you're thinking of who does the ultrarealistic portraits but am buggered if I can think of the name. Pretty sure I've seen some of his stuff when I visited a gallery once. Is very impressive. Although I'm sure there are plenty of peeps who do similar stuff so might be thinking of somebody else.

Some conceptual art can be hard to appreciate though I agree. You tend to need to know some of the background which is a bit of a cheat perhaps. For the most part I like conceptual stuff though but the there is a lotta dross too I admit.
