Carl Cox tonight!! First time seeing him out side of a festival setting, which is weird cause I'm actually seeing him in his natural setting. Dillon Francis is in town too but none of my friends want to see him. But I have a feeling our paths will cross at some festival this summer

fuck...if I could make it to chi town in just an hour I would go with but you are about 6 hours away :(

Make a weekend out of it, come to Spring Awakenning, EDC Chicago, Wavefront, or North Coast. If festivals aren't your thing. These places ussually have the best acts so check em out every few weeks.

http://www.themidchicago.com/ - best for big names
http://www.visionnightclub.com/palladium.php - best for big names and my personal favorite

http://smartbarchicago.com - Best for house & dnb

if concerts are more of your thing check out

Plus you'll have an opportunity to find some mints :D

I never remember the music scene being so awesome here, all of this happened with in the last few months. Big names came by once in a while but never such a variety.

I was thinking of EDC Chicago but we are trying to go to alaska this summer so everything we get goes to that...maybe next year.

fuck...PVD on the 23rd...why did I have to look at that site:!

^ I am out of the loop when it comes to todays EDM DJs. PVD was huge back in my day...never heard of Markus Schulz

was suppose to see dillon and floss tonight but i saw them last fall. tomorrow night its flux ... four month break plus hotel room is one block away from the venue so i can def have fun and not have to worry about driving home lol

EDC Alaska?

^^ I Really hope Tomorrow World doesn't replace CounterPoint. As cool as it would be I want to make an annual tradition out of CounterPoint at least until my friend graduates from uni in Nashville. We both went last year and I had the best time of my life traveling from B.C. Took a whole 24 hours to get there. :)

Too many great memories... :(

I really hope one of the two festivals comes out with a press release on what is going on soon, I'm biting my nails over this! :(

^ I assume you are talking about me wanting CounterPoint to stay CounterPoint and not Dillon Francis being the clown he is? If so thanks haha

EDIT: Yeah I must say though, CounterPoint has a special place in my heart, that weekend changed me. I didn't do anything too crazy, just rolled on night and drank the rest of the time (Huge mistake... lol), so it wasn't a drug revelation haha, I felt reconnected to the scene.

I used to be the classic metal head and hated on any genre that didn't have "Metal" in its name, but after tagging along with some people I knew through my brother to my first rave I fell in love with the scene and the music. After a While I fell out of the scene again due to school getting stressful, hanging out with friends who had no idea I even raved, lacrosse... you get the point, but CounterPoint brought that all back for me and that is why I love it so much and want it to stay as it is. :)

I was really refering to the 24 hour drive :)

I am still a metal...but I appreciate alot more music and I am alot more tolerant of other music after being in the rave scene. I don't think I would be in a men's acapella chorus and quartet now if it weren't for raving. I sing with alot of 70-80 men and they are some of the best friends I ever had. raving and drug culture opens everyone up somehow.

Ultra in 2001 was the turning point for me I think. the vibe and music combind to move me in way the can't be replicated and had a lasting and profound impact on my life.

had my wisdom teeth out yesterday so no fun for me this weekend. other than the vicodin

It wasn't a 24 hour drive, it was a mix of two plane ride, cabs, greyhound, hitch hiking normal hiking to the venue. :) I've been on some super long road trips though haha.

And I agree, raving and the drug culture really can open people up, it's a nice feeling. :)
