What new (or old) game do you love?

Got Far Cry 3, quite a bit ago now, and I'm finally close to completing it. I'll be lucky if I even pick up the controller, most weeks, so it usually takes me ages to finish a game. Was sat in front of the 42", with the 5.1 turned up, just fucking immersed in it, the other day. Then I downloaded the new Tomb Raider. What a fucking game. I'm so impressed by it. It's really quite adult, which is obviously a perk. Shame, as my kid really wants to play it... Anyone else loving a game, currently?

But if you mean digital games, then I'm a fan of the Bit Trip Runner games. Also anything ball-and-bat, arkanoids, through-the-wall.

Just got hold of the latest Humble Indie Bundle for Android. it has a game Super Hexagon which is nicely entertaining.

Not just for android, windows, mac and linux too. It's a nice simple concept that keeps you interested.

Solar 2 also looks like a fine effort, similar to Osmos HD.

Call of Duty is the mainstay, who doesn't love mindless slaughter of enemies? I want to get my hands on the new Tomb Raider as well. I also got Assassins Creed 3, not impressed. I'm a video game nerd so I don't wanna go back to Legends of Manna and such so we will keep in recent.

Skies of Arcadia is my all-time favourite game. Sega Dreamcast...Classic. Get it on an emulator if you can and play it, it's simply incredible.

Asides from that...Jet Set Radio (JSPete - JetSetPete). There's a HD remake of this around on PC. I'm not sure if it's on consoles but, again...Just get a dreamcast emulator and hook up a controller %)

ICO and Shadow Of The Colossus are also up there for me.

As for recent games...I really like the look of the new SimCity game. Also Far Cry 3, but I suspect I'll not want it by the time I get any money to buy it with.

YES! That is amazing and I need it. I fucking loved that game, and it was one of the games that usually didn't load from the tape. I reckon I remember that better than any other Spectrum game (except Back to the Future 3, which took a full hour to load and only worked a couple of times). You can get a Spectrum for well cheap, on eBay. I might have to get one, just to relive some memories, which are still very much there.

I need to play some games which I got well into and then downloaded a new one, so forgot about. Still got Borderlands 2 to finish, Skyrim, Rayman: Origins, Black-ops 2, MW3, even! I'm bad for that. It's because it costs me the price of a blank DVD (and I really want my son to have the newest games, but can't afford them). I know I'm not going to get judged on here, but I think some of my mates don't agree with it (probably because they can afford to buy them). Perhaps it makes you look skint, if you have to download yourself a copy. Fuck knows. I just know it makes sense. Got Dead Island to start, heard it's good.

Not the same as actually plugging the thing into your analogue (possibly black and white) TV and tuning it in, knock. Then wondering if it would load. I might have to have a crack at those, though. I knew you could get an emulator, but it would just ruin it, by making me realise how shit the games really were, compared to now. My kid doesn't understand that you didn't get graphics like that, when I was a kid. I sound like an old cunt, but we really have lived through the change of video game graphics, from horrendous to amazing. It won't make a jump like that again. It'll just look more realistic. My kid has never had to move blocks around a screen, although he actually seems to like retro games...

Yeah, Counter Strike has been a proper favourite of a lot of people. It's like Call of Duty. Never bothered with Age of Empires. Don't think it's my thing.

I have currently been playing sleeping dogs and I am finding the story awesome.

Max payne 3 is also another Must place new-ish game!

CS:Go is best best compatative onlien shooter at the moment. Excellent Multiplater, both in design of game mechanics and 'party/clan-play'.

Aoe being released on steam is bullshit, and for that price they can fuck off. Play on voobly, its free and just as good. @shimzu go to voobly.com they let you played the downloaded free version there, its not hard to find online and they have a better anti-cheat than steam will have,

Most of the current aoe players play on voobly, (Currently 1600) and its friday night, sometimes doubles on sundays. about 60% of them are not going to pay for a game that just has some new textures, the community will die. There are no other AoE players anywhere else apart from GameRanger with maybe a few hundred, people will play where the majority will be and it wont be voobly.

Microsoft discontinued the game, tore apart a community of thousands and then suddenly comes back, adds some textures and wants to start charging £12 for it again?? Can go fuck themselves...

I'm bloody loving exploring the games of my youth these days! :D
If I can't make music or do some writing (that's right, I'm trying my hand at writing) or even just watch TV that makes me have little faith in Human kind, then I'll wap on GT2 or Vagrant Story
They're most excellent when you can't sleep too
