Benzos versus Alcoholic buzz? (not drunk or wasted)

Here is a mini poll that I wanted.

Is to see how many of you prefer benzos effects over alcohol or vice versa.

Do you think benzos give a more better feeling than a alcoholic "buzz" (NOT drunk or wasted) but in terms of a slight alcoholic buzz from lets say drinking 2 shots of straight Vodka.

In my opinion, I think alcohol gives me a better buzz like feeling than benzos, as benzos tend to make me feel just relaxed but without the buzz-like feeling and makes me very sleepy.

But the drawback to alcohol, is that I read that it raises blood pressure a bit.

Let me STRESS this one more time....I dont mean being drunk or hammered by alcohol, I am meaning the buzz-like effects only from initially drinking a few shots versus the effects from benzos.

Of course, this depends on dosage terms also, but in general, what would you all prefer?

Benzodiazepines don't really give you a buzz, they're just relaxing and a good tool to those who need it, even if you push the dosages very high. Alcohol on the other hand does provide euphoria and the more you push the dosages the more intense it gets.

Either way, no matter what anyone's opinion is on this, there's no harm reduction in your question so I'm giving you heads up that your thread may get closed since in essence it's a "what drug gives me/you more of a buzz" thread.

Alcohol gives me a better "feeling."

But Benzos give me a relaxed feeling.

Benzos are perfect for the alcohol hangover.

But yea if we're talking about straight highs....alcohol beats benzos (for me at least.)

alcohol for partying

benzos for everything else (stress, sleep, stimulant comedowns, etc)

overall Benzos > alcohol

i just wouldnt wanna go to a party n pop .25 - .5mgs of xanax at a time, id rather be social n casually drink over the course of the night. but that makes me wonder, if there were bars or parties that just served low doses of benzos n at the end of the night you may have consumed 1-3mgs or so of xanax i think that could be fairly fun n sociable (obviously getting barred out to the point of blacking out wouldnt necessarily be fun or social but niether is blacking out on booze imo)

so yea benzos > alcohol except for partying but even then that might just be because of societal norms. benzos take the cake imo
 
Benzos actually do give euphoria, even at pretty low doses. And imo is much funner to mix with other drugs especially weed. Being real benzod out is like being drunk but clear headed.
 
I really wish I was one of those people that get "euphoria" from benzos.

They just don't give me that.

Iunno maybe I haven't tried the right benzo? I've done clonazepam, alprazolam, temazepam, and some other "pams" I can't really remember at the moment.

But its like, I'll take some, and it'll get me a bit relaxed (not euphoric), and if I decide to take more, I either just get really tired and go to sleep, or I black out completely for like 4 hours and 'wake up' in some other room of my house not knowing what the fuck happened...lol

i dunno your history n maybe you have used quite a bit of benzos for quite some time

but this is how i was when i 1st started taking benzos

id either take a little bit and wind up finishing my stash passing out n waking up mid afternoon early evening the next day wondering where all my shit went, or i would take too many and black out, stay awake n do some shit i later regretted

now i can and do enjoy taking small doses like .5-1mg of xanax or 10mg of valium n just chillin but sometimes i wanna get 'barred out' again but i find myself having to take 4+mg of xanax to get that feeling i used to get where you could still function but didnt care bout anything and 2-3 hours could feel like 15-20mins, i know that doesnt sound fun, but i have very fond memories of being in wednesday night school every wednesday senoir year of highschool (wed night school was just 3 hour detention instead of the one hr detentions) and i would just pop a bar, sit in the back of the library, strategically put a single headphone in and doodle, i would just get comfortable with my doodle when everyone would get up to go home n id be lookin around askin people "was that 3 hours already"?

Nah. To be honest with you, it doesnt matter what amount I take. And I haven't used benzos recreationally that much. I tried to, really, I did try, but it just didn't work for me. I'd pop a few benzos for school a few years back, and yea, no euphoria. Hell, I even popped benzos a year ago, and this was when I was in my paranoid meth stage. No euphoria. I would pop a bunch (3mg - 4.5mg of clonazepam) and I'd pass out. At work. The older guys actually video taped me while i was sitting in the chair, fucked up hard, but i was sleeping. I didnt believe them until they showed me the video. What's even funnier is that I did this while the Client (think of being on a project, for those of you involved in business) was in the room. They taped me with my head on the back of my chair, passed out cold for like 60mins. Of course they were cool dudes who wouldn't rat me out, but still....not acceptable.
 
I find that benzos actually make me more sociable than alcohol, usually when I drink I get to the point where I get a weird anxious and dirty feeling. With benzos, it feels so clean with the right dosage and having close to no worries just makes me happy.
 
Benzos hands down.

Alcohol doesn't really settle my Anxiety like a Benzodiazepine does. Whether it be in certain social situations (Low dose) or flying (Higher dose) Benzos (Did) help me through, whereas with Alcohol my mind is still racing and the nerves are still present along with the fact that I still can't sleep.
 
Alcohol seems to hit more receptors and release more dompaine than benzos (I get an energetic feeling while coming up on alcohol). Alcohol has WAAAYY more negative side effects and feels way more toxic/poisonus.

Benzos seem to mainly hit only one section of gaba receptors in your brain (resulting in a much cleaner, subtle feeling). As the above poster said benzos work way better for anxiety.

The people who actually get a nice euphoria from benzos often suffer from anxiety of some sort. Other then that it's not very euphoric for most people. Just relaxing. That last sentence is so true, Until you wake up the next day and can't remember shit.

For me it's kinda a toss up between the two. Benzos are safer and healthier imo. The thing that makes them more dangerous then alcohol for me is that I tend to keep eating them when there is no need to. Which just causes memory loss of that day.

Alcohol is by far more dangerous and unhealthy overall. I can limit myself when it comes to drinking most the time, in which case I prefer drinking over Brazos . On that rare occasion where I go all out it never ends well. Usually ends with drama and me throwing up and passing out in someone's bathroom. Nothing has brought me to my knees like alcohol has.
 
To me, benzos = a less sloppy drunk feeling, both physically and mentally, along with a ton of other pros:

Benzos don't give hangovers (to me and I take copious amounts, rebound anxiety cane be a real bitch, but anyway..
Benzos lower your inhibitions in social situations, much like alcohol.
Benzos (many of them) have some amazing muscle relaxant and hypnotic capabilities.

Overall, I'd say benzos are a superior, if more subtle "high"

But there is certainly something to be said for a nice cold beer.
 
i would say alcohol + benzos is the best, even though its dangerous and fatal in big dosages. Alcohol or benzo on its own are dull to me, but i love for example eating half a bar ( 1mg) and a 2 L of beer, gets me nicely buzzed and relaxed.
 
I like the feeling of benzos MUCH more than alcohol. However, it depends what you want from them. Benzos are chill and calm. I don't really like alcohol though. I think GHB compares more to alcohol than benzos though.
 
Yeah like other posters have said I think it depends a lot on your surroundings.

For me alcohol comes with so much more than just ethanol. Firstly, the feeling you get when you get a perfectly made Manhattan makes my whole body sink into its deliciousness. I get a buzz when I got to my local where there is a perfectly poured beer poured in front of me before I can even sit down. The same way I feel when I finish my ritual before I smoke crystal meth. The social aspects of not only engaging with the bartender but alcohol comes with so many fun traditions and difference of opinions. You can't cheers benzos or argue about the validity of apricot brandy in a valium. I know I am totally biased but I am in love with bar culture and the beautiful creations that come out of it and the romance of its rich and complex history.

In comparison, for me benzos are clinical and for ugly situations. For example: comedowns, insomnia, axiety. Thats not to say I don't like to take one with my missus and chill out at home.

Sorry for going totally off topic but in conclusion, alcohol gives me a better buzz, more confident, energetic, sociable but I do love benzos for when I just want to relax and not feel anything because the feeling is pretty subtle for me.
 
temazepam euphoria > alcohol euphoria

most other benzos are less euphoric than alcohol, but I still prefer benzos to alcohol, simply because I hate the comedown and generally "dirty" feeling i get from alcohol
having said that, i drink a lot, but usually in low doses (1 drink at a time typically, although on the weekends I drink a few beers later in the day)
 
low dose of both gives the positives of both (emphasis on low dose of both)

or if you can get it ghb is the best alcohol replacement I've ever tried
