Yip I am a newbie going clean once again

Proud of you brother. Remember admitting powerless over our addiction is the first step in bringing empowerment back into all other areas of our life, it is not weakness but strength. And ya, methadone and benzo's was by far the worst combo I've ever had to kick man so I feel ya. As far as your kids, I don't have any so I won't pretend to know what that's like, but I do have friends and family who went through this with me and although they had to see me suffer for a time while withdrawing (plus PAWS) they understood and realized that in the end they would have the real me back in their life...so it was worth it and I'm sure your children feel the same. No, I'd say about four months into it all physical symptoms were totally gone (much less than that for the severe ones) and although I get the occasional craving it is not overpowering like it used to be, the power of choice has been restored.

Thanks it helps to know that this can be done. This has been the hardest challenge in my life and I cant help but to be jealous. I know that the six month mark is when most of your extra opiate receptors have fallen off (up to 7.5months because methadone binds really hard I have read) and your body is like a normal non opoid user. Other than the underlying issues that have been hidden all these years. Emotions! I have never went from happy, sad, mad, all in one hour. sorry to sound so depressing it just helps getting this off my chest for I am not going to talk at a meeting for a while but I will keep going because of people like you and an old friend of mine. Thank you. You are dishing out my new meds (reality) and I am taking them as prescribed. lol :)

rofl...nice. Ya thats what its all about man, two junkies just helping each other to stay clean one day at a time and you don't have to rush shit. I don't talk at meetings very often either, if you feel more comfortable doing it on here then that's fine, and I think you'll find that (especially once the recovery forums are up) there's ALOT of ppl just like you in your exact position.

I would way rather do online AA/NA because I am a shy person. People like you realy help me. Do you know of any online meetings. I just dont like running into people I know especially my old junkie friends. I also hate driving out of town so I dont see them for I try to conserve all natural resources. I cant stand the smoke in some of those places because I just quit smoking about three months ago and my smell is x10 from what it was.
<3 KICKIT
