I'm about to drop some LSD for the first time and i'm wondering what would be a better dose. 200ug, 300, or 400. I don't want to be stuck in a "mild" trip. If i'm going to be high, i want to experience it to the max.
suggestions?
Did you procure the LSD crystal and lay the blotter yourself? If not, then chances are you don't know the dosage of the LSD you're getting. Dealers throw numbers around without any real backing, as the vast majority of them have never taken a measured dose, and just taken blotter and guesstimated dosages based on reading other peoples experiences and the intensity they experience - the problem arises more with the fact that these experiences too are based on guesswork etc.
Numbers I've often seen for tested hits coming out of the US are around the 30-60ug range, sometimes 70-80ug, and very rarely 100ug+, but most dealers when asked about dosage will say their hits are 150ug+, this leads to inaccurate dose representations, with people saying to take 600ug because they took 4 hits that they were told were 150ug+, when in actual fact they might have just taken 4x50ug hits for example.
If you actually laid the blotter yourself, 150-200ug should be quite a strong trip, but if you've just been told your hits are 200ug, it's quite possible they aren't and you might want more. It's important to be careful though and start low for your first time and then try higher next time.
Do you still have contact with the person who provided you with the hits? Your best bet is to ask them if they've sampled the hits themselves (I sure hope so if they're selling them on) and ask them what kind of dosage they recommend.
It's really important to remember that there are other drugs commonly passed off as LSD though, and recently there has been a new addition - the NBOMe series, this series is highly potent and people have ended up in hospital or dead from taking just a little too much, so absolutely don't go jumping in with several hits your first time, if it's not LSD (and don't assume your dealer knows for sure, they might, or they might not know the difference) you could be in trouble.
Start by testing for an adverse reaction, take 1 hit or even half/a quarter hit and place it under your tongue. The first thing to check for imo is a bitter taste - while some LSD blotter can have a slightly bitter taste from the paper itself, it's still a warning sign that it might be something other than LSD, and if the taste is *highly* bitter, I'd go ahead and assume it's another substance, and you'd be better off spitting it out and trying to ascertain what it actually is, and if you're willing to try it.
If not, go ahead and swallow the hit (I say this because this will prevent it from working if it's one of the NBOMes, so it doubles as a way for ruling them out of the equation!) and see how it feels. It may be the right level for you, or it may not be quite as intense as you like, but you'll have then proven you have no adverse reactions, and can try again in a week or two, possibly with a higher dosage if you didn't feel it was enough.
Hope this helps.
