Is a sinus infection from drugs like a normal sinus infection?

Hey,

When you get a sinus infection from insufflation of drugs, will you feel it coming on just like a normal sinus infection?

Can you treat it like a normal sinus infection?

I read somewhere that sinuses happen more often with Mephedrone than say.. a lot of others drugs. Not sure how true or relevant that is.

I don't have one currently, haven't in a long time, used to get them like every month though.

Will a Sudo do the trick? (obviously not while on stuff.) I know saline can help. But, are these sinus infections from drugs more severe, or just like 'normal' sinus infections?

Tanks.

So a sinus infection technically means that it is caused by a bacteria, virus or fungus, whereas "sinusitis" is a more broad term that means inflammation of the sinuses, which may be due to infection, allergy, irritation/particles or another immune response. So it really depends on the cause. If you have sinusitis due to using drugs it could be caused by the drugs getting in your sinuses if you snort the drugs, or it could also be caused by the drug lowering your immune system and making it easier for an infection to happen. If you have a sinus infection that was related to using drugs and you continue to use the drugs it may be more severe and will be harder to get rid of than a normal sinus infection.

What treatment will help also depends on the cause.

Sorry, there are really a lot of variables so it's too difficult to give a definite answer to your question.

Well, that does help answer my question to a degree though.
Thanks

Are there any ways to tell if the sinuses are inflammed? I can definitely tell when I need a decongestant or saline, but I am starting to think that may be slightly different.

Thanks for sharing. I haven't actually ever shared anything with people and only use paper\straws by myself and don't use money either.

What I'm more concerned about is because I heard mephedrone has a tendency to give sinus infections?
I've just in general been bumping things more.. With dissociatives too (not referring to meph) it kind of becomes a need to do thing as far as ROA goes..

So really, I'm more just paranoid than anything, not actually experiencing sinus infection like symptoms, but more wonder what to look out for.
I definitely take breaks for sure though, I don't overkill it per se. But basically, you'd be able to tell what's up if you had one? Kinda like a normal sinus infection?
Still kinda curious if inflamattion of the sinues has its own unique feeling too. It may be tough because I'm probably looking for symptoms that don't exist.

Are you snorting any of your drugs?

Sinusitis will have symptoms like pressure, fullness or pain in the sinuses (face and/or ears) and nasal congestion. You might also get thick yellow or green snot or flem, cold-like symptoms or a fever, depending on the cause and severity.

I used to get at least one sinus infection a semester from snorting cocaine...I'd go to the urgent care clinic, get a dose of antibiotics, and it would clear up. I'm not sure if they're exactly like "normal" sinus infections but mine always responded to antibiotics.

It is never a good idea to share any thing that enters someone else's body. The nose has small capillaries that can leak or open up and release fluid or blood. If they use it and you use it, you are putting his germs and bacteria in your body. You can catch Hep C this way along with illnesses and other disease.

Always use your own equipment to protect yourself and stay safe.

I don't really see what's happening here; I never have shared anything with anybody lol. Thanks Swimming, I wasn't really fully sure what I was asking, but I think that concludes it. But when someone tells you his he saw his friend die on the operation table from a sinus infection from mephedrone, one has to see my paranoia. Not sure how much truth is involved there, or how this 'said person' didn't realize there was something wrong..
