going to soundwave festival in sydney tomorrow

its the one time of the year where my inner 16 yr old metal head comes out and goes mental... last year it was all about coal chamber, slipknot and system of a down.

this year i will be seeing - Killswitch Engage, Puscifier, Stone Sour, Cypress Hill (weird inclusion to the line up), A PERFECT CIRCLE!!!!!!!, Blink 182 and Metallica

The weather is supposed to be rubbish, im just recovering from a cold/flu... bound to be an epic day.
 
Yeah, man, they were p p p good live. I was only really going to the show to catch the opener [who I missed thanks to work] but stuck around for Railroad's first set and wasn't disappointed.

Jealous. I had tickets to see them tonight but thanks to an untimely death of my car fate played out a little different. Makes me sad because I've been becoming quite friendly with the band without seeing them perform live yet. They did a little promoting of my work and I whipped them up a little fan site.
 
^^ Ha ha, makes you reconsider the friendship, doesn't it? Saw Booker T last year and he was great.

Caught My Bloody Valentine last week and I should have gone with my initial instict of not going. Not that they were bad, just that I saw them when they first came out over 20 years ago and it was one of my best musical experiences so to see them again, and for the gig to be just ok, is a little disappointing.
 
Saw Astronautalis and Why? last night. Some hipster girl calling herself Dream Tiger opened, I was pleasantly surprised. I went mainly for Astronautalis and he killed it, it was a really small venue which made it even better. He did his usual freestyle thing where he takes topics from the crowd, last night's were science teacher, American muscle cars, and Oakland in the 80's. Amazing. Why? was also surprisingly good, they're so much better live.
 
^ Nice. I've always been wanting to see Why? live but talk myself out of going at the last minute because youtube videos of them playing live seem subpar. But youtube never really does any musician justice when it comes to live footage. Stupid me.
 
i bought tickets to see furthur in atlantic city on 4-27 to spite someone who can't get it together on his own

i say tickets because i bought an extra one that i will give away rather than get this dude's shit together for him
