Ok well I dont take back what said about the movie, it is still a good watch. He actually plays the villain too so it would be easy for you guys to hate him in the movie too.

Or don't even look it up no kief out of my grinder just tryin to spread some laughs
 
Don't take it peronal or owt - I'm sure there must be some here who will appreciate the recommendation, Pauly. Not like his films don't make fortunes so somebody must like him. Just not the first three people who responded is all. Am sure we have folk with no taste here too :D

Trying to spread laughs via the medium of Ben Stiller movies is somewhat akin to trying to spread world peace with an atom bomb - ie only works if you're American ;)

hm I never really look at ratings anymore but i didnt think it would be rated that low, it's quite violent and psychologically disturbing. Definately worth watching.

I watched 'Savages' a day or two ago which was pretty good.
Was about a couple of quality weed growers that get mixed up with a mexican drug cartel.Some big name actors in it also.

I loved the perks of being a wallflower, definitely watch it!!

Gonna revisit the anime genre soon... I plan on taking some rare gem of a psychedelic soon that I never had before and at some point later in the trip when I am done "exploring", "discovering" and being active I wanna watch some of the top anime movies. I am not familiar with a lot of them, watched Akira once I think.
Now I am downloading a bunch of the top rated ones. I need to add Appleseed I think? There was something about that one?

Generally I think Ben Stiller is a retard but Zoolander was IMO ridiculous enough to qualify as amusing.

Baraka is a stunning movie. I did acid again for the first time in quite a while last sunday and watched it with my best friend / housemate on the tail end while we made pizza's from scratch. Terrific.

Then we also watched Arizona Dream which is a pretty insane and fucked up movie that I recommend for all to see. Hilarious absurd experimental comedy with Johnny Depp.

Oh hells yeah. And the second one especially for pretty things. One of the prettiest animations you ever will see <3

(the earlier versions of Appleseed are great fun but the animation is nowhere near as good)

The Ghost in the Shell films are also good. And somewhat psychedelic in nature.

Used to be good on anime but have let it slide recently so can't be much more help off-hand (aside from anything by Miyazaki, of course)

One I've enjoyed most recently is Paprika. Very tripped out tale. Think somebody said that it was the inspiration for Inception. Probably was but is a much more enjoyable film. Imo, ime, etc, etc.
 
It was just this sunday, the day I just mentioned, that I told my friend that Paprika may just be one of the most ketamine movies I have ever seen.

Maybe I should have added though, that I never attempted to see it sober.

And funny you should mention Appleseed Ex Machina because that is the one I am running a HD download on, after reading on IMDB that the story is not as good as the first one's but the graphics are state of the art, and I guess I will take my chances that a lot of Japanese body language idiom is completely lost on aspie old me and that the eyecandy will blow my psychedelicized socks off.

Yes Ghost in the Shell, I have known the title for years and I will get it just to be sure - I had some bullshit rationale about the hacker theme not being trippy and exotic enough to be worthwhile but how closed minded can assumptions get?
 
Well... what did ya think the "Ghost in the Shell" refers to? Philosophy innit. Albeit with lashings of robots and guns and stuffs and thats :D

Not strictly speaking anime as such but Animatrix is a goodly swirlsome choice too.

And Akira is definitely worth a re-watch. Has aged very well. Story is barely comprehensible no matter what state of mind but it still looks incredible <3

Do have some decent anime knocking about but would have to dig it out to recommend any. Am rather fond of the insanely excessive ubergore, violence and sex anime stuff too so not all entirely PD material though :D

I mentioned the elephant in the room - Hayao Miyazaki - so presume you've seen his ouevre (can ya tell I studied media at college? =D) along with the rest of the Studio Ghibli stuff? If so, well done. If not, do so. All of it.

I just watched Not Of This Earth earlier today and it definitely falls into that 'so bad it's good' category. Cheesy effects, hilariously bad acting, silly plot, but hey, it's got Traci Lords in it. I can honestly say I don't think I've ever seen one of her porn films, but I certainly watched many of her terrible late night TV movies back in the 90s. What can I say, I just like her.

Actually it isn't... Up ferra confession? Thought so. Only ever owned the one Traci Lords film but I was... very fond of it... as a teenager. Very fond of it.

Only discovered a few years later that it was a long time before she was legal she starred in that one. Think she only actually made two pr0ns that aren't technically child porn. Although maybe it was a few more. Wasn't many though. And this wasn't one of 'em. You'd never've guessed in a gazillion years though. Was also one of those properly hilarious 70s ones with a ridiculous plot - about "sexbees" which made you fuck til you died when they stung you or some such thing. Had the bloke out of Deepthroat in too. Classic <3

(that i don't own anymore - truly don't given the flurry of prosecutions a while back it got binned sharpish)
