RCs Tested mepehdrone with a mecke testing kit and I need somebody to decipher results!

The colour started off as bright yellow (like DXM) and then slowly changed to the golden brown colour here...

what does this mean?
 
It fades to a brown color over time because the chemical reaction oxidixes and browns over time, that's normal in all reactions really.


As far as if it's mephedrone, I don't really know the mecke reactions on hand... it's honestly not a very good reagent, it's only use it for testing between DXM and MDMA, and no one sells DXM as MDMA these days.. the Marquis kit will give much more definitive results, and can test for a much wider variety of substances.

Yeah man, I wanted a marquis, but the place had sold out.

It turned golden pretty quickly though, within a matter of 5-10 seconds. And then it went brown.

A closely related substance, MDPV, is on the mecke test and that colour is pale yellow.

But this one was a lot brighter and then gold...?

Ok I'm confused by that thread....if I'm reading it correctly it looks like MDPV or methylone...but my test kit said both were yellow and not yellow/brown?

Drug testing questions refer to pee testing, not reagent testing.


It looks good OP... at least, it looks like a cathinone. Unlikely to be MDPV or methylone in my opinion, though it can't be ruled out. If it was sold as mephedrone, it's likely mephedrone.. at the worst maybe something like buphedrone
